Nov '25New FeatureCPQ

Chargebee CPQ is out and all yours to explore!

You can now use Chargebee CPQ and Chargebee CPQ for HubSpot to configure, price, and generate quotes directly within Chargebee Billing. This release brings both products live together, giving you a unified quoting experience from day one. Chargebee CPQ integrates with your product catalog, while Chargebee CPQ for HubSpot connects natively to HubSpot CRM, helping you maintain consistent, accurate, and streamlined quoting-to-billing operations.

Why is this important?

With Chargebee CPQ, you eliminate the need to switch between external tools like spreadsheets, CRMs, or separate approval channels. It supports your teams through:

- Automated calculations such as applying pricing models, prorations, taxes, discounts, and rolling up totals. - Guided forms that prompt reps for the right inputs and ensure quotes follow your product and pricing setup. - Approval routing that enforces your pricing, discount, and exception policies before a quote is sent out. Together, these reduce errors, limit back-and-forth revisions, and give sales the flexibility they need while finance retains visibility and control. The result is a smoother quoting process and a faster path from quote creation to customer acceptance.

How can you use it?

Chargebee CPQ is enabled by default for new users. Head to the Configure Chargebee section and look for CPQ. Refer to our step-by-step workflow below to guide you through every stage of the setup.

1. Configure Chargebee CPQ

  1. Generate Quote
  2. Submit Quote for approval(Optional)
  3. Send Quote to customer for acceptance
  4. Convert Quote to Subscription

Smarter shipping address collection for Checkout

Chargebee Checkout now supports conditional shipping address collection based on whether the products in the cart require shipping. Previously, you could only choose to collect or skip shipping details for all purchases, regardless of the type of items. With this update, Checkout can be configured to ask for a shipping address only when the cart includes shippable products.

Why is this important?

This feature helps you reduce friction for customers who purchase digital or service-based products that do not need shipping. It creates a simpler checkout flow and improves conversion by ensuring customers only provide information that is relevant to their order.

How can you use it?

  1. Log into Chargebee Billing.
  2. Go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Checkout and Self-Serve Portal > Configuration.
  3. Enable the toggle Collect shipping address only for shippable products.
  4. Select Publish. Checkout will now automatically determine whether to request a shipping address based on the presence of shippable items in the cart.
Nov '25EnhancementsCPQ

Two key improvements have been introduced to the Accept Quote page in CPQ. - You can now choose whether the quote PDF is displayed in a Consolidated View or Detailed View directly from the Accept Quote page. - You can now Edit billing and shipping addresses right on the checkout page before accepting a quote.

Why is this important?

- This enhancement ensures you always see quotes in a consistent, easy-to-understand format, improving clarity and cutting down on unnecessary back-and-forth. - The ability to edit billing and shipping details at the point of acceptance helps reduce friction, avoids outdated information, and prevents fulfillment or invoicing errors.

  2. Under the Configuration tab, scroll down to Advanced Settings.
  3. Toggle on Show quote preview on quote acceptance page and choose your preferred format of the PDF (Consolidated View/Detailed View). Click Publish. How can you use it?

- Open any invoice or quote to view the updated subtotal and total breakdown. - On mobile, tap View as PDF to preview the document instantly.

Nov '25EnhancementsCRM Salesforce

Billing address company mapping for Salesforce [1.72+ Package]

You can now map the Billing Address Company field in Chargebee Billing to a custom field on the Salesforce Account object.

Why is this important?

Some business store billing company names in custom Salesforce fields rather than the default Account Name. This enhancement helps ensure data accuracy and better alignment with your internal Salesforce data model.

How can you use it?

  1. Log in to your Salesforce account.
  2. Go to Chargebee Settings > Additional Field Mappings.
  3. Find the Billing Address Company field, map it to your preferred Salesforce field.
  4. Save the configuration.
Nov '25EnhancementsCRM Salesforce

Control Opportunity updates during renewals in Salesforce [1.72+ Package]

You now have the option to stop Chargebee Billing from automatically updating the Opportunity Stage and Close Date fields during renewals. Learn more.

Why is this important?

Sales teams often manage these fields manually to ensure accurate sales forecasting. This setting prevents Chargebee from overwriting that data.

How can you use it?

  1. Go to the Chargebee Site object in your Salesforce account.
  2. Locate the setting with label Skip Renewal Stage Update (Skip_Renewal_Stage_Update__c).
  3. Set its value to True.
Nov '25EnhancementsCRM Salesforce

Streamline billing using 'Terms to Charge' in Salesforce [1.72+ Package]

When creating or updating a subscription from a Salesforce Opportunity, you can now specify Terms to Charge to generate multiple invoices in a single step.

Why is this important?

This is useful when you want to bill for multiple periods simultaneously, whether to consolidate billing or facilitate bulk invoice generation.

How can you use it?

  1. Log in to your Salesforce account.
  2. From the Opportunity page, click Create/Change Subscription.
  3. On the Payment & Shipping Info screen, enter the number of billing periods in the Terms to Charge field.
  4. Complete the flow, and Chargebee will confirm the invoices created.
Nov '25EnhancementsCRM Salesforce

Subscription Entitlements in Salesforce [1.72+ Package]

Salesforce users can now view Chargebee subscription entitlements directly using the Lightning Web Component.

Why is this important?

This provides your teams with clear visibility into what a customer is entitled to, right from within Salesforce, improving access to subscription details across your organization.

How can you use it?

Add the cbViewSubscriptionEntitlement component to your desired record page via the Lightning Web Component. Once added, users can click View to see a full list of subscription entitlements.

Nov '25EnhancementsCRM Salesforce

Renewal opportunities now supported in Salesforce [1.72+ Package] with Ramps enabled

You can now create renewal opportunities even when Subscription Ramps are enabled in your Chargebee site connected to Salesforce.

Why is this important?

Previously, if Subscription Ramps were enabled, renewal opportunities wouldn't be generated in Salesforce.

How can you use it?

With this update, you can enable Subscription Ramps without losing access to the renewal opportunity functionality in Salesforce. Note that while renewal opportunities will now be created, they won't include or recreate ramp details from the original subscription.

Nov '25EnhancementsCRM Salesforce

Support for package pricing on metered items via Salesforce [1.72+ Package]

Package Pricing is now supported for metered items across key subscription and quoting workflows.

Why is this important?

Package Pricing lets you define pricing in terms of fixed-size unit blocks, where charges are based on the total units consumed and the applicable pricing tier. The unit consumption is evaluated against the tiered or volume pricing structure, and charges are applied based on how many packages of a defined size fall within that tier.

How can you use it?

You can now apply Package Pricing when creating or modifying subscriptions, generating or editing quotes, converting quotes to subscriptions, and generating checkout and quote acceptance links. This gives you more flexibility in offering usage-based plans. Learn more about Package Pricing

Nov '25EnhancementsSubscriptions

Price override for gift subscriptions

You can now override the price of a gift plan while creating a gift subscription.

Why is this important?

This enhancement helps you tailor gift subscription pricing for specific customers, without being restricted to the fixed price configured for the plan.

How can you use it?

When creating a gift subscription, provide an override price for the price point. Chargebee will apply this custom price for that subscription alone, allowing you to run targeted promotions without modifying the base plan configuration.

Nov '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Duplicate addon entries in Checkout resolved

You may have noticed that certain addons appeared multiple times in Checkout even when they were included only once in your API request. We've fixed the issue.

Nov '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Fixed event source reporting for Portal payments

Previously, some events in the Billing activity log were incorrectly labeled as originating from "Hosted Pages" when they were actually triggered from the Portal. This fix ensures that all Portal events now appear with the correct source in your Activity Log, helping you maintain accurate audit trails and gain clearer visibility into your customers' payment behavior.

Nov '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Fix for gift checkout custom fields

You can now rely on your gift checkout flow to correctly display subscription-level custom fields passed through the API. This update ensures that your customers view the correct details at checkout and provides you with greater control over the metadata associated with each gift subscription.

Nov '25Bug FixesInvoices

Payment instructions now show correctly for Greece

We fixed an issue that prevented payment instructions and bank details from appearing on invoice PDFs for merchants using Greece as the billing country. This occurred due to a mismatch between Greece's country codes GR and EL. You can now rely on accurate country code mapping, and your Dynamic Payment Instructions will display correctly for customers in Greece.

Nov '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Gift checkout error resolved for Avalara users

If you use the Avalara tax integration, you may have noticed that Checkout occasionally failed for gift subscriptions. In these cases, Checkout displayed the message "Unable to calculate the tax rate because the shipping/billing address is either invalid or incomplete. Please verify and try again." This issue has now been fixed.

Nov '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Fix for early tax address error in full-page checkout

Previously, a tax calculation error appeared before customers could enter their billing details on full-page Checkout. This occurred only when recommended addons were listed on the page. With this fix, tax calculation works as expected, allowing customers to complete their purchase with fewer interruptions.

Nov '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Improved handling of gift ID formatting issues for Claim gift API

The Claim gift checkout API now handles unexpected formatting in gift IDs without disruption. Previously, if a gift ID included an accidental line break, the hosted claim gift page failed with a 500 error, preventing customers from redeeming their gift. Now, malformed gift IDs trigger an appropriate API error instead. This keeps the claim gift experience reliable, even when gift IDs are copied or generated with unintended line breaks.

Nov '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Fix for incorrect behavior when previewing checkout for existing customers

When you preview Checkout using an existing customer, the experience now behaves as expected. Previously, the preview sometimes loaded as a generic plan URL, dropped customer details, prevented authentication, or failed to prefill the customer's email in the login flow. Switching between new and existing users also sometimes left the email field in an incorrect state. These issues have been fixed, so you can now reliably preview checkout with the same customer context and authentication behavior your customers experience.

Nov '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

OTP display issue resolved in full-page Checkout preview

When you preview the full-page Checkout with Chargebee Login enabled, the default OTP now appears as expected. Previously, the OTP sometimes failed to display when proceeding with an existing customer, and clicking Resend OTP only showed a loader.

Nov '25Bug FixesCPQ

Fixed: Incorrect billing frequency displayed during Quote Generation

We fixed an issue where 3-month and 6-month plans were incorrectly shown as "Monthly" during quote creation. The correct billing interval now displays consistently, improving clarity for sales teams.

Nov '25Bug FixesCPQ

Fixed: Mandatory add-ons not applied for variant pricing plans

We fixed an issue where mandatory add-ons linked to a variant pricing plan were not being added automatically. This resulted in quotes or subscriptions being created without required components, often leading to incomplete packages and manual corrections. With this fix, all mandatory add-ons are now applied correctly when a variant pricing plan is selected, ensuring accurate pricing and a more reliable quoting and subscription creation experience.

Nov '25Bug FixesCPQ

Fixed: Unable to edit tiered pricing on 'Create and Send a Quote' page

Resolved a bug that prevented merchants from editing tiered prices on the Create and Send a Quote page for multi-decimal sites. Any change to tiered pricing either failed validation or could not be saved, blocking users from updating quote pricing. Pricing updates now work correctly, and quotes reflect the intended tiered amounts without errors.

Nov '25Bug FixesCPQ

Fixed: Quote generation failed due to validation error on one-time charges

Resolved a bug that prevented merchants from editing tiered prices on the Create and Send a Quote page for multi-decimal sites. Any change to tiered pricing either failed validation or could not be saved, blocking users from updating quote pricing. Pricing updates now work correctly, and quotes reflect the intended tiered amounts without errors.

Nov '25Bug FixesCPQ

Fixed: Incorrect display of Non-Standard Billing frequencies

A bug that caused non-standard billing frequencies, such as 5-month or 7-month cycles to display incorrectly in the contract summary has been fixed. This issue could lead to misunderstandings during reviews and approvals, creating confusion for both merchants and customers. With the fix, all custom billing intervals now appear accurately in the summary, ensuring clearer communication and more reliable contract details.

Nov '25Bug FixesCRM Salesforce

Quote ramps no longer reuse past one-time discounts

CB Quote Ramps will no longer auto-populate one-time discounts from previous periods. This fix helps your sales reps avoid carrying forward outdated discounts when creating new quotes, ensuring greater accuracy and control over pricing during the sales process.

Nov '25Bug FixesCRM Salesforce

Resolved an index out-of-bound error on CPQ renewal quotes

You will now experience a more reliable quoting process, as the error that occasionally interrupted renewal quote generation has been fixed.
