Mar '24New FeatureProduct Catalog

Introducing: Variant pricing (EAP)

We are thrilled to introduce the Variant Pricing feature in Chargebee Billing. This powerful feature empowers businesses to effortlessly manage different prices for multiple variations of a single product or service, accommodating factors such as geography, partners, versions, and more, directly within the Product Catalog. By consolidating these variations into a unified item (plan/addon/charge), Variant Pricing streamlines your product catalog, fostering a more organized, scalable, and growth-oriented approach.

Note: Variant Pricing feature is in early access*. Submit a request to enable this feature.

Mar '24New FeatureHosted Pages

Pricing Table: Add plan details dynamically to redirect URLs

You can now dynamically add plan and price IDs to your pricing page redirect URLs using variables in the Redirect to URL option. Create more relevant experiences, guiding customers to targeted offers or product details without additional steps.

Mar '24New FeatureSubscriptions

Introducing: Move a subscription API (EAP)

You can now effortlessly move specified subscriptions from one customer to another. This innovative feature responds to the need for flexibility in handling subscriptions due to organizational changes on your customer's end. Until now, moving subscriptions between customer accounts required manual intervention, a process both time-consuming and prone to errors. This update not only simplifies subscription management but also empowers your customer support team to provide faster, more efficient service.

Note: Move a subscription API is in early access*. Submit a request to enable this feature.

Mar '24New FeatureRevRec

New export: Revenue backlog report

The revenue backlog report is now included in both continuous and month-end exports, providing valuable insights on total outstanding revenue at the sales order level.

Mar '24EnhancementsProduct Catalog

Display missing events on product catalog user interface

We've identified a critical enhancement needed to bolster your monitoring and verification processes: the visibility of key events directly within the product catalog interface. Previously, you faced challenges in confirming if events had triggered correctly due to some missing event types. Our latest update has added crucial Product Catalog events, such as creations, updates, and deletions of attached items(plan/addon/charge) and differential prices, right on the Plan/Addon/Charge detail page within the Events card. With this enhancement, you can now view up to 10 recent events per card, ensuring you have the insights needed to manage your catalog efficiently.

Mar '24EnhancementsRetention

Field mapping enhancements

In our latest update, we're excited to introduce enhancements to field mapping notifications within Chargebee Retention. Now, users will receive notifications when navigating away from pages within their retention application, ensuring that any changes made to their field mapping are saved. With clearer notifications, managing your data has never been easier.

Mar '24EnhancementsRetention

Cancel display name in alerts & notifications

Introducing an upgrade to our notification system for Slack and email: now featuring end subscriber-facing cancellation reasons instead of internal ones. This enhancement brings clarity and transparency to the churn process, allowing customers to gain deeper insights into why subscribers are leaving. Not only does this empower users to understand churn better, but it also fosters organizational alignment, enabling teams to tackle churn more effectively.

Mar '24EnhancementsRevRec

New export: Revenue backlog report

The revenue backlog report is now included in both continuous and month-end exports, providing valuable insights on total outstanding revenue at the sales order level.

Mar '24EnhancementsRevRec

Proportional performance delivery log input

  • Product Codes: Now you can track product deliveries using unique product codes instead of relying on sale order item IDs. This simplifies data entry and streamlines matching. RevRec automatically matches deliveries to orders with the corresponding product code. In cases with multiple order items sharing a code, RevRec applies a first-in-first-out (FIFO) approach, prioritizing deliveries against the item with the earliest service start date.
  • Unit Rollover: This is a new setting that allows you to specify if a product unit can be "rolled over" for consumption beyond its service end date ("Yes") or must be used before ("No"). This enhances control over revenue recognition for products with extended usage flexibility.
Mar '24EnhancementsRevRec

RevRec mobile subscription

  • Custom Fields: RevRec now supports custom fields for both Apple and Google mobile subscriptions, allowing you to capture additional data at the customer, product, and subscription (sales order) levels. This empowers more granular reporting and analytics.

  • Google Subscriptions: RevRec offers enhanced capabilities for Google mobile subscriptions. It now allows configuration to recognize revenue in the buyer's currency and automatically deducts tax based on the transaction type, ensuring accurate revenue reporting aligned with international sales.

Mar '24EnhancementsRevRec

Multi-Entity customer support

RevRec now facilitates customer entity changes under multi-entity Chargebee merchants. This simplifies customer management within complex organizational structures. Importantly, revenue associated with the customer's original entity remains attached to that entity after the change. The new entity will only recognize revenue for new sales orders initiated after the switch. It's important to note that customers with ongoing subscriptions (governed by contract terms) can only change entities at the time of contract renewal, not during the active subscription period.

Mar '24EnhancementsSubscriptions

Prevent inserting ramps that change billing frequency (EAP)

If you attempt to insert a ramp that modifies the billing period of a subscription before an existing ramp, Chargebee will now proactively alert you with an error message. For an effortless adjustment, remove any subsequent ramps and reapply your changes.

Note: Subscription Ramps is in early access*. Submit a request to enable this feature.

Mar '24EnhancementsTaxation

Anrok integration

We are excited to announce that with this release, merchants who have integrated with Anrok can now configure Tax Calculations for any supported region in Chargebee.

Mar '24Bug FixesProduct Catalog

Streamlined checkbox type custom field in coupons

We've addressed and resolved a subtle yet significant bug affecting custom fields within coupons. Previously, when editing a coupon and specifying applicable plans, a checkbox custom field would unexpectedly switch from 'True' to 'False'. This required you to revisit the coupon edit page to reset the checkbox to its correct value. This issue is now resolved.

Mar '24Bug FixesInvoices

Parent invoice consolidation issue resolved

In the previous version, a problem occurred where the First Invoice estimates (Preview) were not consolidated and instead appeared as separate invoices. This was due to the inadequate population of the estimate response (Invoice estimate). This issue has been resolved in the current release through corrective measures applied to the estimate response population, ensuring accurate consolidation of First Invoice estimates (Preview).

Mar '24Bug FixesInvoices

Resolution for inconsistencies in day-based billing invoice timestamps

Previously, the advance invoice date was set to the current time despite enabling the day-based mode. We have implemented a solution to verify the billing mode and set the date accordingly. For the day-based mode, the date is set to the start of the day (DD-MM-YYYY 00:00:00), while the current time is used for the millisecond-based mode.

Mar '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Usage details greyed out fixed

We've identified and fixed a glitch where the Usage details section on the subscription details page was mistakenly greyed out for some users, despite having valid usage data for their subscription items.

Mar '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Subscription cancellation edits fixed

We've tackled and eliminated a hurdle where users with custom roles encountered a permissions error when trying to edit a scheduled subscription cancellation if a cancellation reason code was required. With this fix, you can now effortlessly make necessary changes without any unwelcome surprises, ensuring a more efficient management of your subscription lifecycle.

Mar '24Bug FixesRetention

Offer performance report for multi-CTA offers

We're excited to announce the resolution of an issue affecting the accuracy of the Offer Accepts column in the Offer Performance Insights report within Chargebee Retention. Previously, reports for offers with two or more call-to-action (CTA) buttons may have displayed incorrect counts. Additionally, we've updated the customer details view to eliminate duplicate entries, ensuring clearer and more precise data representation.

Mar '24Bug FixesRetention

Exporting data from Insights reports

We are happy to announce fixing a bug in Chargebee Retention's reporting capabilities. With this update, users can now seamlessly export data from Cancel Insights and Offer Performance Insights reports, resolving any previous issues.

Mar '24Bug FixesRetention

Cancel reasons not populating in dashboard

We're pleased to announce that we've resolved an issue affecting the visibility of cancel revenue and the breakdown of cancel reasons on your dashboard. By adjusting the data update frequency for the cancels widget, we ensure that you always have access to accurate and up-to-date information.

Mar '24Bug FixesInvoices

Enhanced coupon handling in pending invoice refresh | Consolidated invoicing

We found an issue where discounts were accidentally removed when posting or refreshing the parent invoice. Good news! We've figured out a solution to fix this issue, so discounts will now be preserved during invoice posting or refreshing processes.

Mar '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Accurate TCV reporting for future activations in Chargebee

Previously, a hiccup in our system meant non-recurring charges were mistakenly left out of the Total Contract Value (TCV) calculation for subscriptions set to activate in the future. With this update, every charge is accurately accounted for, ensuring your TCV reflects the true value of your subscriptions, empowering you to take informed decisions based on reliable data.

Mar '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Fixed invoice regeneration issue after subscription change

If you've ever faced challenges with regenerating an invoice after voiding it and then altering the associated subscription, we've got good news for you. With this bug fix, you can adjust subscriptions with complete flexibility, secure in the knowledge that your invoicing can be updated smoothly and without hassle.

Mar '24Bug FixesMulti Business Entity

Fixed payment source updation (EAP)

We have identified and resolved a critical issue that affected the updation of card details as a payment source using API operation for a business entity within a site. This glitch previously led to a frustrating 404 error, causing payment failures for some customers. With this update, you can now enjoy error-free card details updating process, ensuring successful transactions across all business entities of a site.

Mar '24Bug FixesMulti Business Entity

Fixed icon visibility issue for payment instructions (EAP)

We are pleased to announce a recent bug fix in Chargebee that enhances your experience with our Customize Invoices, Credit Notes, and Quotes feature with Multi Business Entity (MBE) enabled. This update addresses a glitch where the Draft and Overridden icons did not appear after modifications were made in the payment instructions. With this fix, you can now see immediate visual confirmation when you select "Only instructions for preferred offline payment methods," ensuring the Draft and Overridden icons display correctly.

Note: This feature is in early access*. Submit a request to enable this feature.

Mar '24Bug FixesMulti Business Entity

Fixed tax settings navigation issue (EAP)

We have addressed an issue where clicking on the Taxes link in the top navigation on the Tax Regions page incorrectly redirected users to the site's settings page, instead of the intended business entity's settings page. This improvement ensures an error-free free navigation experience.

Mar '24Bug FixesTaxation

Country name to be specified instead of country code in the reverse charge notes

With this release, we've made improvements to the display of country codes in the pop-up message when updating the reverse charge custom text. Now, instead of showing just the country code, the full country name will be displayed.

Mar '24Bug FixesTaxation

Notifications not sent to Avalara from Chargebee

With this release, we've fixed the email notification issue for merchants who were getting an error message stating 'Avalara credentials provided were invalid,' which prevented access to all subscriptions.

Mar '24Bug FixesTaxation

Incorrect zip code validation

Previously, customers encountered validation failures for the zip code '9498' when checking out, even though it is a valid zip code for the country Liechtenstein.

We've addressed this issue, ensuring that zip code validation for '9498' in Liechtenstein now passes successfully during checkout.

Mar '24Bug FixesTaxation

VAT not displayed on the invoice

Previously, merchants experienced an inconsistency where the VAT number was not reflected on invoices generated via Add one-time charges and quick charges compared to invoices created through normal subscription renewal. Despite enabling the VAT number in the business profile and verifying all settings, the issue persisted.

We've addressed this issue, ensuring that the VAT number now appears consistently on invoices regardless of the method of generation

Mar '24Bug FixesInvoices

Analyzing discrepancies: Total tax sum vs line Item taxes

We've detected a mismatch in line item tax values stemming from rounding discrepancies during credit note generation. We've got you covered with an innovative solution. Introducing a new environment property that dynamically calculates the variance and fine-tunes the final tax amount for precision. Experience better tax adjustments and ensure accuracy in your financial transactions.

Mar '24Bug FixesInvoices

Import credit note API issue

We've addressed an issue with the Import Credit Note API where it failed to account for any allocated amounts provided in the request, resulting in the creation of incorrect credit notes with the entire amount. The solution involves rectifying the code to accurately consider the amount provided in the request, ensuring the creation of credit notes reflects the allocated amounts as intended.

Mar '24Bug FixesInvoices

Subscription cancellations resulting in invoices with a zero amount

We've identified an issue where empty invoices, lacking line items, were generated solely for discounts. In response, we've implemented a solution to prevent the generation of invoices when there are no line items(such as plans, addons, or charges.). This resolution ensures that invoices are created only when essential components are present, maintaining consistency and accuracy in our billing processes.
