Updates, changes, and improvements at Chargebee
You can now permanently remove Chargebee sites that have been disconnected from your Salesforce integration. This update helps you keep your integration clean and organized by allowing you to easily eliminate unused or obsolete sites, improving your overall CRM management and reducing clutter.
We are excited to introduce the currency resource with endpoints to add, retrieve, list, and update currencies, as well as manage schedules. This resource streamlines your currency configuration process in Chargebee, ensuring that your exchange rate configurations are always up to date. Previously, you could only perform manual exchange rate updates via the Chargebee UI. Now, with this new currency resource, you can update the manual exchange rate of a currency using any foreign exchange(FX) rate provider of your choice, ensuring that your Chargebee reporting stays in sync with your other systems. To leverage this feature, ensure the Multi-currency feature is enabled and all prerequisites are met.
We are excited to introduce the new pricing_page_session API resource, designed to securely provide subscription and customer details to your pricing page. This feature allows your customers to create new subscriptions and manage subscription upgrades and downgrades via the Chargebee-hosted pricing page. Each session is unique and time-bound, ensuring that sensitive information like customer or subscription details remains protected from potential misuse. Note: The pricing page session is in early access. Enable this feature by yourself.
Chargebee RevRec now supports multiple date formats for your input data, allowing you to choose between mm/dd/yyyy and dd/mm/yyyy formats. Simply reach out to the RevRec support team to configure your preferred date format. The RevRec user interface will display dates based on the configured format. This enhancement ensures that date handling aligns with your regional preferences, improving usability and accuracy in managing your data.
We've enhanced the Customer Transfer feature within Multi-Entity setups, making it more efficient and reliable. This improvement simplifies the process of moving customers between entities, reducing friction and ensuring smoother operations across your organization.
We've enhanced our support for standard Salesforce Opportunity Products by ensuring that tiers are now recreated as unique line items within Opportunity Products. This means any updates you make to Opportunity Product line items, such as quantity changes, will now automatically reflect in the Chargebee Visualforce Pages. This improvement streamlines your workflow and ensures greater accuracy and consistency between Salesforce and Chargebee.
We've enhanced the CRM Salesforce integration with improved access controls and greater customization options. You can now configure the Ship To address directly within the CB Site Object, giving you more control over your address data. Additionally, you can clear pre-populated country values when needed, offering more flexibility in data management. We've also introduced the option to choose when you want to apply these changes in Access Controls, allowing for smoother and more controlled updates.
You can now invoice overages for subscription changes immediately. With the new site setting enabled, you can generate an invoice and charge your customers for usage-based charges right away when they upgrade or downgrade subscriptions with metered components. This enhancement ensures timely billing and improves cash flow by allowing you to collect payments for additional usage either immediately or by the end of the billing cycle. You can now schedule ramps for subscriptions managed under contract terms beyond the current contract end date. This enhancement allows you to align pricing adjustments with contract renewals seamlessly, ensuring your updated pricing is always in effect.
We've improved our invoicing system to include detailed tax origin information in the invoice response. This ensures that the tax origin country is accurately reflected based on your tax configuration and transaction type. This enhancement provides greater clarity and compliance in your tax reporting, helping you manage taxes more effectively.
Chargebee users can now directly log in to the RevRec site from your Billing site without needing to re-enter login information. The RevRec login page identifies Chargebee Billing users by email address and redirects you to the Chargebee login page. Additionally, you can now switch to the Chargebee Billing site using the product service menu available in the left navigation menu.
RevRec now supports specifying either retrospective or prospective accounting treatment for sales order modifications under the contract term method. With the prospective method, the system automatically calculates and carries over the revenue backlog from the pre-modification contract into the modified contract, determines the new transaction price based on updated contract parameters, and allocates revenue accordingly. You can specify the treatment method for each contract modification through the UI or bulk data upload. If not specified, the retrospective method will be applied by default. This enhancement gives you greater flexibility and precision in managing contract changes, ensuring accurate revenue recognition.
We've improved the Auto-Collection feature to enhance your subscription management while using metered billing. Previously, if a payment method was not found during pending invoice generation, the subscription would be cancelled even for $0 items. Now, you can skip card validation for invoices containing only $0 items, ensuring your subscriptions remain active without unnecessary interruptions. This update streamlines the setup process for your customers, making it faster and easier to activate their subscriptions. Contact Chargebee Support to avail this enhancement on your site. Please note that this feature will not work if subscriptions have non-zero items but they become zero because of adding coupons.
We've fixed the issue where advance invoices were showing incorrect billing periods due to the billing cycle day not being set correctly on the subscription object. Now your advance invoice flow will work flawlessly to ensure your invoices reflect the correct billing periods, providing clarity and accuracy for both you and your customers.
When you configure override settings for tax configurations at the Multi-Business Entity level, you can now change the configured tax model for any Tax Region at the entity level. This fix empowers you with greater control and flexibility over your tax settings, ensuring that each business entity can manage its tax configurations according to its specific needs.

We've resolved an issue where child customers were receiving invoices intended for parent customers, leading to potential data leaks and revenue loss.
