Scheduled Entitlement Overrides

Introducing the Scheduled Entitlement Overrides. Scheduling entitlement overrides in Chargebee gives you precise control over the start and end dates of your entitlement overrides. This allows businesses to automate and pre-schedule changes to subscription entitlements in advance without manual intervention, ensuring that your clients have timely access to tailored entitlements, while minimizing operational overload and avoiding time-consuming manual processes.

Jul '24New FeatureCheckout

Collect Australian GST business status in full-page checkout

You can now collect GST business status information from customers in Australia during the full-page checkout process. This ensures accurate tax calculations by integrating this information directly into the billing address, improving the onboarding experience and billing accuracy for your customers.

Jul '24New FeatureCheckout

Schedule subscription changes in the checkout flow

You can now allow customers to schedule subscription changes in the checkout flow, ensuring no immediate impact on their current plan. As a merchant, you can set changes to occur at the end of the term or on a specific future date. Any immediate charges will be clearly shown in the order summary, enhancing transparency and customer experience.

Jul '24New FeaturePayments

Support export payments with Razorpay integration

Previously, the Chargebee and Razorpay integration only supported domestic accounts with INR currency. Now, it also supports export accounts, allowing businesses looking to expand and collect payments from customers outside of India to make payments in non-INR currencies. This enhancement facilitates export payments and provides greater flexibility for India-based businesses. Learn more about Razorpay account types.

Jul '24New FeaturePayments

Adyen Fraud Management

In this update, we have introduced additional fraud management support using Adyen RevenueProtect for payments made via Adyen. You can now review suspicious transactions or customers and mark them as Safe or Fraudulent, or Ignore them once it has been marked Suspicious by Adyen and Chargebee.

Jul '24New FeaturePayments

Online Banking Poland

We have added support for a new bank-based payment method called Online Banking Poland via the Adyen payment gateway for your customers in Poland.

Jul '24New FeaturePayments

Introducing Automated Account Updater support for Worldpay US eCom

Chargebee now supports the Real-time Automated Account Updater for Worldpay US eCom (formerly Vantive Litle), reducing payment failures caused by expired or outdated card details. This feature ensures that all updates to a customer's card information are instantly reflected in Chargebee through the collaboration with card networks and the Worldpay US eCom gateway. This enhancement helps you minimize payment failures and streamline your recurring billing process.

Jul '24New FeatureCRM Integration

Introducing a new setting to sync subscriptions to HubSpot Quote-to-Cash

The setting, When a Subscription is Upgraded in Chargebee, provides three options for handling subscription upgrades within Chargebee:

  • New Deals: Reflect the upgrades in HubSpot as new deals.

  • Updating Existing Deals: Update the corresponding existing deals in HubSpot.

  • Doing Nothing: No action will be taken in HubSpot for the subscription upgrade.

This feature aims to streamline your sales processes and ensure that your subscription data remains consistent and up-to-date across both platforms.

Jul '24New FeatureCRM Integration

Introducing a new and updated HubSpot Quote-to-Cash field mapping

We are excited to announce a major update to the field mapping between Chargebee and HubSpot. This enhancement allows you to find more values on the Company, Contact, and Deal objects within HubSpot. Key values such as Subscription Status, MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue), Net Terms, and more are now available natively in HubSpot, enabling you to streamline your Quote-To-Cash (Q2C) process with greater efficiency and accuracy.

Jul '24New FeatureHosted Pages

Pricing Pages: Manage upgrades and new subscriptions for returning users

You can now create personalized pricing page sessions for returning users, allowing them to either start a new subscription or upgrade or downgrade their existing plan. This enhancement enables you to pre-fill essential details—like customer information, billing, and shipping addresses—directly through the API, saving time and creating a smoother checkout experience. Take advantage of this setup to boost conversions and make plan management effortless for your returning customers.

Jul '24New FeatureInvoices

Seamless subscription changes with usage-based billing

Chargebee Billing now supports the use of older item prices for older usages during subscription changes. This ensures that any usage recorded for a subscription prior to the subscription change is billed at the previous rate, providing accurate and consistent billing for your customers. This feature enhances your billing precision, maintaining customer trust and simplifying your subscription management.

Jul '24EnhancementsHosted Pages

Pricing Table: Signup supported for sites in AU and EU regions

If your Chargebee site is in the AU or EU regions, you can now sign up for Pricing Tables using your existing Chargebee credentials. This convenient login access lets you quickly configure and manage Pricing Tables without extra setup. Please note that, while login is available across regions, all application data will be securely hosted in the US data center.

Jul '24EnhancementsHosted Pages

Pricing Table: Customize views for returning users

You can tailor your pricing page experience by toggling between views for new users and subscribers. This update allows you to personalize what prospective customers and existing subscribers see, giving you more control over user engagement and retention. Plus, the new preview feature lets you see exactly how returning users will experience your pricing page.

Jul '24EnhancementsHosted Pages

Pricing Table: Product family consistency

Now, when you add items to a pricing page, Chargebee automatically guides you to select items from the same product family, ensuring accurate and cohesive pricing displays. If any of your existing pricing pages contain items from different product families, you'll see a warning icon alerting you. To resolve this, either update the product family of the items or remove items that don't belong.

Jul '24EnhancementsHosted Pages

Pricing Table: Enhanced pricing page session accuracy

We have improved validation for API attributes (customer[locale], billing_address, shipping_address) on the pricing page session APIs. Previously, incorrect values for these attributes were allowed, causing checkout failures when triggered from atomic pricing. With this fix, errors are now returned during the creation of the pricing page session, prompting you to correct any invalid values beforehand.

Jul '24EnhancementsPayments

Flexible UPI mandate frequencies for improved billing

Razorpay now supports multiple frequencies for UPI mandates, offering daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and as presented (ad hoc) options. New merchants will default to the ad hoc frequency, but you can configure your site to enforce a specific billing frequency, such as monthly, for all your plans in the checkouts. This update provides greater billing flexibility to suit your needs. You can also customize the default maximum amount for UPI and Netbanking mandates by setting a specific value. Learn more about mandate properties and customizations.

Jul '24EnhancementsReceivables

Display currency formats in Receivables account statements

You can now view currency formats in Chargebee Receivables account statements. Amount fields will be displayed with their currency code and symbol. If a customer's locale is available, amounts will be shown in the customer's local currency format. If no locale is present, currency formatting will default to the merchant portal settings.

Jul '24EnhancementsReceivables

Subscribed reports naming

With this release, the subscribed reports in the emails will now have the same name as the corresponding saved view in Chargebee Receivables.

Jul '24EnhancementsReceivables

Increased attachment limits for emails

With this release, we have increased the restriction on the number of attachments allowed in an email from 10 to 25, with a combined size limit of 25MB.

Jul '24EnhancementsInvoices

Enhanced dunning control options in LEAP UI

We've enhanced the dunning management capabilities in Chargebee's LEAP UI by introducing the option to resume dunning processes directly from the user interface. Previously, only stop and pause dunning options were available, limiting control over your subscription recovery processes. With this update, businesses can now easily resume dunning operations when needed, ensuring smoother and more proactive management of failed payments.

Jul '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Aligning addon billing cycles with contract terms

We've resolved an issue where you couldn't match the billing cycle of an addon to a subscription with contract terms. Previously, attempting to align the addon billing cycle with the remaining cycles of the subscription reduced the addon's billing cycles upon modification, and setting it one count higher resulted in an error. With this update, you can seamlessly add addons to subscriptions, ensuring that billing cycles are properly aligned and error-free.

Jul '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Fix for updating per unit price error

We've fixed an issue where updating the per-unit price in a subscription would trigger an error message stating that the addon value must be at least 1. With this fix, you can now seamlessly update subscription values without encountering errors, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

Jul '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Accurate handling of contract term scheduling

Chargebee Billing has fixed an issue where the system unintentionally scheduled cancellation jobs for subscriptions. This occurred when a contract term was scheduled just before the subscription was set to expire. With this update, the system now accurately handles contract term scheduling near expiry, preventing unintended cancellations and ensuring smooth management of your subscriptions.

Jul '24Bug FixesInvoices

Enhanced accuracy for advance invoicing schedules

While handling a large migration, advance invoice scheduling was not found to work as expected. While most subscriptions were updated correctly, some with renewals less than/within the selected days showed incorrect schedules. We've improved the system to ensure accurate scheduling, even when updating through the Chargebee Billing UI. This enhancement ensures that your invoicing process remains accurate and reliable, reducing manual adjustments and improving efficiency for large-scale subscription and invoice management.

Jul '24Bug FixesEntitlements

Fixed feature entitlements display issue

We have resolved an issue where feature entitlements were not displayed correctly when viewed from the details page like Subscriptions, Customers and more. Now, when you set up features and assign them to products, the entitlements will consistently show up as expected even if the product codes(item_id and item_price_id) are in numeric values.

Jul '24Bug FixesProduct Catalog

Improved coupon export functionality

We've fixed an issue with exporting coupons under Product Catalog > Coupons. Previously, the CSV file included manual discounts along with your created coupons, resulting in inflated entries. Now, the export file will have a new column to clearly distinguish between coupons and manual discounts. This fix ensures you receive accurate data, making it easier to filter and manage your exports.

Jul '24Bug FixesTaxation

Improved tax calculation

During subscription renewals, tax calculations using third-party integrations, like Anrok, occasionally resulted in a response code 500, leading to job failures and subscription cancellations. This error was on Anrok's end, and we previously did not reschedule the renewal job, fearing repeated failures. We've now fixed this issue. If an internal server error occurs with any third-party tax provider, we will retry and reschedule the renewal job up to three times, with one-hour intervals between attempts.

Jul '24Bug FixesInvoices

Enhanced currency validation for charge creation

We've implemented enhanced currency validation for charge creation in Chargebee Product Catalog 2.0 version, ensuring that when you create charges using a subscription ID, the currency of the charge aligns precisely with that of the subscription. This update guarantees consistency and accuracy, preventing any discrepancies in currency handling and ensuring smoother financial transactions for your subscriptions.

Jul '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Improved clarity on total and recurring charges in quotes

We've improved how recurring charges are displayed on quotes in Chargebee to provide clearer information for you. Previously, the total sum over the full runtime was displayed as Total recurring charges, which could be misleading. This update eliminates confusion by clarifying them as Total Charges, ensuring transparency in your billing communication.
