Dec '24New FeaturePlatform

Site administrators can now reset team member's two-factor authentication (2FA)

We've introduced a new capability for site administrators to reset the two-factor authentication (2FA) of their team members directly. This enhancement allows admins to quickly assist team members who've lost access to their 2FA devices, ensuring uninterrupted access to Chargebee's platform.

Why is this important?

Previously, only Chargebee's support team could reset 2FA for users, leading to potential delays in regaining access. With this update, site administrators now have the authority to reset 2FA for their team members. This change reduces wait times and offers greater control to site admins, empowering them to resolve access issues promptly.

How can you use it?

To reset a team member's 2FA, navigate to Settings > Team Members and select the Reset 2FA option next to the relevant team member's name. This option is available only if the user and admin are members of the same Chargebee's customer identifier(Merchant ID) sites.

Dec '24EnhancementsRevenueStory

Enhanced currency exchange rate handling in NetSuite

The Currency Exchange Rate setting in NetSuite is now fully functional, with UI and backend implementations aligned.

Why is this important?

Previously, mismatched UI and backend implementations required additional L2 configurations to handle currency exchange rates, leading to inefficiencies. This resolution ensures accurate currency handling and reduces manual intervention, providing a more reliable experience.

How can you use it?

With this fix, currency exchange rates in NetSuite are now handled accurately based on updated Advanced Sync Rules. This eliminates the need for additional configurations, ensuring a smooth and consistent process during synchronization.

Dec '24EnhancementsAccounting Integration

Sync payment terms from Chargebee to Intacct

Chargebee now supports syncing payment terms directly to Intacct, improving the efficiency of handling due dates during invoice creation.

Why is this important?

This feature automates the process of managing payment terms in Intacct, reducing manual effort and ensuring accurate invoicing. By leveraging cached AR terms and dynamically creating new terms as needed, you can maintain consistency and avoid errors.

How can you use it?

When sync for due dates is enabled, Chargebee fetches all AR terms at the start of the sync and stores them in a cache. During Sales Order (SO) or AR invoice creation, Chargebee checks the cache for the applicable payment term. If found, the term is applied; if not, a new term in the format CB - Net net_term_days is created, cached, and synced to Intacct. For invoices with 0 net term days, only the due date is synced as part of the regular flow.

Dec '24EnhancementsRevenueStory

Introducing a pivoted view of Receivables Aging by Customer in Reports Explorer

You can now download the Receivables Aging Report by Customer in a pivoted view. You can view the aging at a customer level, segregated by the aging buckets, clearly outlining the different aging buckets a customer has and how much is due in each bucket in the Reports Explorer.

Why is this important?

This enhancement groups aging information by customer and aging buckets, making it easier to track the amount due for each customer. Financial controllers can now access more detailed insights, saving time and improving the accuracy of their receivables tracking.

How can you use it?

Navigate to the Reports Explorer and you will now be able to download this pivoted view from the Receivables Aging by Customer (Pivoted) report.

Checkout: Full-page layout is now the default for new sites

The full-page layout is now the default checkout experience for all new sites. Designed for flexibility and customization, this layout offers a single-step checkout process, making it easier for your customers to complete their purchases. If you prefer the in-app layout, you can switch back at any time.

Dec '24UI ImprovementsPlatform

When a user attempts to log in to a Chargebee region that differs from the region where they originally signed up, and if they have no sites in the current region, the login will be restricted and the user will see a clear message informing them of the issue.

For example, if a user logs into the US region but has no sites in that region, they will see the message: No sites available in the US region. Please switch to a different region.

Additionally, the region switch link on the Chargebee login page will be prominently highlighted to guide the user to the correct region.

Why is this important?

This enhancement ensures users are informed when they try to log in to an incorrect region, preventing them from being directed to an empty Sites or Select page. Such situations often lead to confusion, as users may mistakenly believe that their site is inaccessible. By proactively guiding users to the correct region, we aim to improve the user experience and reduce unnecessary support requests.

How can you use it?

This feature will help when you have signed up for a Chargebee account by making it easier to navigate between regions and access your sites.

We've resolved an issue where MasterCard credit cards starting with BINs 223444 were incorrectly flagged as invalid on the checkout page. With this fix, transactions using these BINs will no longer trigger the invalid credit card error, allowing for successful payments.

Checkout: Accurate session status for redirects

We have fixed an issue where the state query parameter in Chargebee Checkout redirects sometimes displayed requested instead of successful after a completed checkout session using the full-page layout. With this update, you can now trust that the state parameter accurately reflects the session's status, enabling you to reliably process post-checkout workflows.

Customer Portal: Display plans in the order you define with fetchAllowedPlanConfig()

You now have more control over how plans are displayed in the Self-Serve Portal when using the fetchAllowedPlanConfig() custom code. Previously, the list of plans appeared in a random order, which could lead to confusion for your users. With this update, the plans will follow the precise order specified in fetchAllowedPlanConfig().

Dec '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Fixed issue with reactivating subscriptions from cancelled state

We've resolved an issue where reactivating a subscription from the 'Cancelled' state was failing due to a change date incompatibility with the plan terms. The issue was related to backdating, which wasn't working correctly when attempting to reactivate a subscription via the 'Edit Subscription' page. Additionally, the 'Reactivate' option was not visible for sites without multi-business entity enabled. With this fix, you can now reactivate subscriptions from the cancelled state without encountering issues, even when backdating is required, and the option will be available for all sites.

Dec '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Fixed issue with creating tiers above the 101000 range

We've resolved an issue where tier information was missing when attempting to create tiers above the 101000 value range. This error occurred because the system was not accepting values beyond the specified range for tiered pricing. With this fix, you can now create tiers without encountering errors, ensuring that your tiered pricing setup functions as expected for higher-value ranges.

Dec '24Bug FixesHosted Pages

Checkout: Bank transfer description now displays properly on checkout

We've fixed an issue in the checkout experience where the Bank Transfer description label displayed raw HTML for some sites, instead of rendering it properly.

Dec '24Bug FixesTaxation

Configure Indian tax registration without dependencies

Previously, configuring any country with the CSV tax model prevented you from adding an Indian tax registration number. This issue has now been resolved, ensuring that you can add Indian tax registration numbers without dependencies on other countries' configurations. The only requirement is that manual taxes must be enabled for India.

Dec '24Bug FixesTaxation

Improved accuracy in quick charge tax options

We've improved the Quick Charge experience by ensuring the tax provider options displayed align with your enabled integrations. Previously, tax providers like Vertex and Taxamo were visible by default, even without active integrations. This update eliminates confusion by showing these options only when they are configured in your account.

Dec '24Bug FixesTaxation

Refined labeling for Tax Providers

We've updated the copy changes in the Tax Providers > Third-Party Sync Invoice Preferences UI to enhance clarity. The actions previously labeled as Sync in the drop-down now correctly display as Commit, ensuring better alignment with its purpose.

Dec '24Bug FixesTaxation

Price type override field now supports dropdown selection

You no longer need to manually type TAX_INCLUSIVE or TAX_EXCLUSIVE into the price type override field for customers. We've replaced the text box with a dropdown menu, letting you select the desired price type with just a click.

Dec '24Bug FixesTaxation

Resolved missing custom field values for price type override

We've resolved an issue occurring during the customer creation process via the user interface (UI) where enabling the price type override prevented custom fields for tax providers. The issue only impacted workflows relying on UI interactions when using SPI-based tax providers.

Dec '24Bug FixesTaxation

Consistent behavior for e-invoice custom fields

We've improved our e-invoicing capabilities to ensure a consistent experience across all invoice types. Custom fields are now supported at the line-item level for consolidated e-invoices, just as they are for single-subscription invoices.

Dec '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Fixed error in subscription update API with coupon application

We've resolved an issue where the Subscription Update API was throwing an error due to a flow problem in the coupon application process. The precheck method was incorrectly calling the apply method, which caused the coupon to be applied prematurely. By correcting this, the API now follows the correct sequence, ensuring the coupon is only applied when appropriate.

Dec '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Resolved currency validation issue for event-based add-ons

We've resolved an issue where the API allowed charges in a different currency to be applied to a subscription that was originally set up in another currency. This occurred when the subscription, created with a USD plan, was updated via the API with charges in a different currency (such as EUR), resulting in an invoice with a mismatched currency. The missing currency code validation for event-based add-ons and one-time charges has now been fixed. This ensures that invoices are created with the correct currency, preventing issues when updating subscriptions with different currency charges.

Dec '24Bug FixesInvoices

Faster update subscription API with improved query performance

We've addressed the high latency issue with the update subscription API, which was caused by slow query performance when calculating line item discounts. The query was taking longer to execute due to complex joins and conditions. By adding the line_items.type field to the query, we've significantly improved its execution speed. This optimization helps reduce the time it takes to process subscription updates, providing a faster experience when managing your invoices and discounts.

Dec '24Bug FixesInvoices

Invoice PDF now correctly reflects line item discounts

We've resolved an issue where line item discounts were not properly reflected in the invoice PDF, causing discrepancies between the Chargebee UI and the PDF total. Specifically, a line item discount applied to an add-on was missing from the PDF, leading to an incorrect total. This issue has now been fixed, ensuring that line item discounts are properly displayed in both the Chargebee UI and the invoice PDF, providing you with accurate and consistent billing details.

Dec '24Bug FixesInvoices

Handling adhoc charges and item-level discounts in imports

We've identified an issue when importing invoices that include Adhoc charges and item-level discounts. While you can create invoices with these elements manually in the UI, importing them may result in errors or missing discounts, particularly for item-level manual discounts. To unblock your workflow, we recommend using invoice-level manual discounts when importing invoices. We're actively working to support item-level manual discounts in future imports, so you can expect more flexibility in handling complex billing scenarios directly through imports.

Dec '24Bug FixesInvoices

No more unnecessary submit button in invoice preview

We've addressed an issue with the 'Next Billing Amount' View Details button on the customer screen. Previously, clicking the button opened a popup window with a Submit button that didn't perform any action. To improve the user experience, we've removed the submit button from the invoice preview popup. This update eliminates confusion and ensures that the popup now focuses solely on providing the necessary details, making it easier for you to review and manage customer billing information.

Dec '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

We've fixed an issue where clicking the 'View GetAccept Document' link in a quote would incorrectly redirect you to the apps manage page for GetAccept, instead of displaying the document. With this update, the link now works as expected, taking you directly to the GetAccept document for quick and easy access.

Dec '24Bug FixesInvoices

Localized invoice status now available in template builder

You can now enhance your invoice templates with internationalization (i18n) support for invoice status. Previously, invoice status labels weren't localized causing issues for regional customers. This update ensures that invoice statuses are accurately translated to the appropriate language, making it easier for you to create invoices that resonate with customers in different regions, providing a more personalized experience and helping you maintain clarity in cross-border transactions.
