Pricing Table is now in Chargebee.js

Pricing Table is now available within Chargebee.js, replacing the earlier version that was offered via the now-deprecated NPM package. Pricing table is a hosted, responsive pricing page you embed directly in your app or website. It gives you programmatic control over plan configuration and customer context before checkout, with optional session-based rendering via API for a secure, contextual experience.

Why is this important?

With a single integration, you gain access to Chargebee's full suite of hosted experiences without heavy lifting from engineering.

Chargebee.js minimizes developer work by handling updates and security fixes automatically, while giving you flexibility and speed to launch features on demand.

How can you use it?

Follow the Pricing Table integration guide to embed and configure Pricing Table in your app.

Aug '25New FeatureHosted Pages

Optimized trial sign-up in full-page Checkout

Introducing optimized trial sign-up in Checkout, a new experience that clearly surfaces key trial details for customers: free-trial length, no charge today, first charge date, and (if configured) the trial end reminder, across the order summary and thank-you pages.

Why is this important?

You reduce uncertainty at checkout, build trust, and increase trial starts and conversion to paid by making terms explicit.

How can you use it?

Optimized trial sign-up is enabled by default for new Chargebee Billing sites. You can customize the new trial labels in your Checkout settings as needed. If you don't see this feature in your site, you can enable it and then customize the trial labels.

Aug '25New FeatureRetention

Chargebee Retention is now supported via Chargebee.js

Chargebee Retention—previously delivered via the older Brightback.js library—is now available through Chargebee.js. Retention intercepts your cancellation flows and delivers dynamic, hosted cancel‑deflection pages tailored with context‑aware offers such as discounts, plan changes, or surveys.

Why is this important?

You gain access to all of Chargebee's hosted experiences through a single Chargebee.js integration, letting you roll out cancel-deflection flows and other features quickly, without a heavy lift from developers.

Chargebee.js also handles updates and security fixes automatically, reducing engineering overhead.

How can you use it?

Choose the integration approach that fits your flow: - Attach a built‑in handler to your cancel button to invoke the cancel-deflection experience with minimal setup. - Or fetch the cancel page, run your own logic, such as analytics or feature-flag checks, and then redirect accordingly. Follow the integration guide to learn more.

Fresh data and clearer insights in UBB reports

You can now view data sync details within Usage-Based Billing reports to better understand how recent your data is. Whether the report uses real-time updates or periodic sync, you will now see indicators that show the timing of the latest data refresh. Depending on the report type, you'll see different sync indicators such as:

  • Usage Analytics Reports - A note highlights that data updates occur in near real-time.
  • Revenue Reports - The last successful sync is now available on the Revenue reports.

Why is this important?

Understanding how up-to-date your data is allows you to make more informed decisions. Visibility into the last sync time ensures you're not relying on outdated metrics.

How can you use it?

In your Chargebee Billing site,

  • Navigate to Usages > Metered Features.
  • Select a Metered Feature name to view the UBB reports.
Aug '25EnhancementsRevenueStory

Clear Sandbox action in Chargebee deletes RevenueStory data

With this update, the Delete all Data action in Chargebee now extends to RevenueStory. Earlier, when you cleared your test site in Chargebee, the data remained in RevenueStory, leading to inconsistencies in testing. Now, when you perform a Delete Test Site Data, the corresponding RevenueStory data is also wiped, keeping both environments aligned.

Why is this important?

This ensures your Test site remains consistent across Chargebee and RevenueStory. You can now confidently test reporting and analytics in RevenueStory without residual data affecting your results.

How can you use it?

In your Chargebee Billing site, go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Delete or Repopulate Test Site data > click Delete all Data. This action will now automatically clear RevenueStory data.

Aug '25EnhancementsRevenueStory

Time Machine support extended to UBB reports

You can now use Chargebee's Time Machine feature with UBB reports in RevenueStory to simulate how changes in billing data affect your usage metrics over time. If you're analyzing historical data, set a specific date in Time Machine and instantly view the corresponding usage insights in your UBB reports.

Why is this important?

This helps you evaluate and control when validating billing scenarios or planning changes, evaluating potential outcomes before they impact your actual billing.

How can you use it?

In your Chargebee Billing Test site,- Click Settings > Configure Chargebee > Time Machine

  • Use Time Machine in Chargebee to set a past date. Your UBB reports in RevenueStory will automatically adjust to show usage data as it would appear on that date.
Aug '25EnhancementsCRM Salesforce

Identify subscriptions with payment details in Salesforce [1.71+ Package]

Chargebee's Salesforce integration now displays the last four digits and expiration date of a customer's primary payment method directly on the Chargebee Subscription object.

Why is this important?

Having payment details visible within Salesforce helps your support team resolve billing and subscription-related queries faster, with less back-and-forth or system switching.

How can you use it?

Navigate to the Chargebee Subscription record in Salesforce to view the newly added fields for the last four digits and expiration date of the customer's primary payment method.

Aug '25EnhancementsCRM Salesforce

Create quotes for subscription renewals in Salesforce [1.66+ Package]

You can now create renewal quotes directly from the Chargebee Salesforce App by selecting the Existing Subscription option and applying changes at the contract end.

Why is this important?

This change offers a flexible way to manage subscription renewals without relying solely on the Contract Term feature. It enables you to present accurate pricing and terms ahead of time, improving visibility and helping build customer trust.

How can you use it?

When generating a Chargebee Quote in Salesforce, select Existing Subscription and select Apply Changes at the contract end. This allows you to quote for the upcoming renewal cycle, ensuring changes are scheduled to take effect at the right time.

Aug '25EnhancementsCRM Salesforce

Enhanced Chargebee to Salesforce sync [1.66+ Package]

You can now use detailed logs to accurately detect and diagnose subscription sync failures between Salesforce and Chargebee.

Why is this important?

Diagnosing sync failures was often time-consuming and opaque. With this update, RevOps managers and admins can quickly pinpoint the cause of a failed sync by reviewing the Opportunity ID, record link, and error messages. This accelerates issue resolution and helps prevent data inconsistencies, enabling reliable quoting and subscription workflow.

How can you use it?

Check the Sync Logs in Chargebee when a subscription fails to sync from Salesforce. The logs now include the Opportunity ID, a direct link to the relevant Salesforce record, and a clear error message to help you troubleshoot and correct the issue efficiently.

Aug '25EnhancementsCRM Salesforce

Support for multi-product selling in Salesforce [1.66+ Package]

You can now sell subscriptions with multiple plans directly from Salesforce using the Chargebee UI and the Update Chargebee automation. You can also include plans with ramps, making it easier to present phased pricing strategies.

Why is this important?

This enables flexible deal structuring by allowing you to add or remove multiple plans, including those with ramps, within a single subscription.

How can you use it?

In Salesforce, select a Product Family > click Add Plan multiple times to include several plans in one subscription. Use the Update Chargebee checkbox to automate syncing these changes with Chargebee.

Aug '25New FeaturePayments

New webhook for paused dunning events

Introducing a new webhook event - dunning_updated. It is triggered when dunning paused for an invoice in Chargebee Billing either manually or via API.

Why is this important?

Until now, paused dunning states weren't captured as events, making it harder to coordinate updates across systems. This webhook lets you detect changes in real time, reduce manual intervention, and keep records accurate.

How can you use it?

Configure webhooks in Chargebee Billing, and select Dunning Updated under the Events to Send dropdown.

Aug '25EnhancementsRevenueStory

New data sources in RevenueStory Report Builder

You can now use additional data sources in RevenueStory Report Builder to create richer, more detailed reports. - Invoice Transactions: Analyze invoice-level payment activity, such as successful payments, failures, and outstanding amounts, to gain deeper financial clarity. - Subscription Shipping Address: Include shipping details in your reports to track delivery trends and combine order fulfillment insights with revenue data.

Why is this important?

With these new data sources, you can build richer reports that analyze invoice-level transactions for financial clarity and include shipping details for a complete view of customer orders, adding more flexibility to your subscription and revenue reporting. A company wants to see how much money it makes from subscriptions and how customer orders are billed and shipped. With these new data sources, they can: - Check invoices in detail : See which invoices are paid, unpaid, or failed. - Track shipping : Find out if orders are delivered on time or delayed. - Combine insights : Build one report that shows revenue, payment issues, and shipping delays together.

How can you use it?

- Log in to your Chargebee Billing site. - Go to RevenueStory > Report Builder > Build New Report > Detailed report. - Select Invoice Transactions or Subscription Shipping Address from the data source options.

Aug '25EnhancementsSetup & Site Management

Introducing guest approvers for your approvals

You can now assign guest approvers (non-Chargebee Billing app users) to both new and existing approval workflows in Chargebee Billing. These approvers receive email notifications with a pre-authenticated link and can approve or reject requests without logging in.

Why is this important? Previously, approval workflows were limited to Chargebee Billing app users with specific roles. This created friction when team structures changed or when external stakeholders needed to be involved. With guest approvers, you can route approvals to any email address, reducing administrative overhead and increasing flexibility in how approvals are managed.

How can you use it? To assign and process approvals with guest approvers:

    1. Log in to the Chargebee Billing site.
    1. Go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Approval Rules.
    1. Add a new approval rule or edit an existing one.
    1. Enter the guest approver's email address in the approvers list. When the approval request is triggered, the guest approver receives an email with a secure link.
    1. The guest approver clicks the link to open a responsive approval page; no login required.
    1. They review the request details and choose to approve or reject it. Chargebee records the action, including the IP address and browser details, and updates the approval history.

Learn more about the guest approver's actions.

Localized error messages on Checkout for VAT prefix without number

When a customer entered a VAT number prefix without a number in the full-page Checkout layout, the error message previously appeared only in English. This has now been fixed, and the error message is included in the language pack, making it available for translation.

Aug '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Consistent display of primary payment method in Checkout

When the setting to Allow customers to add multiple payment methods was disabled, and a customer had more than one payment method on file, the primary payment method was not displayed during a checkout session with full-page layout. This issue has now been fixed.

Aug '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

"Back to cart" arrow symbol now behaves consistently

When you remove the Back to cart label in Checkout, the associated back arrow symbol is now removed as well. Previously, the symbol remained visible even without the label, which could cause confusion.

Aug '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Accurate next invoice estimates for Checkout

You'll now see accurate invoice estimates when using the Estimate APIs. Previously, the next invoice estimate could incorrectly include charges for an addon that was only applicable for one billing cycle. This led to incorrect pricing information being displayed on Checkout for the upcoming invoice. This issue has been resolved to ensure estimates match your billing configuration.

Aug '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Fix for Checkout session creation with Time Machine

When creating a new Checkout session for a new customer while using Time Machine, the session sometimes failed with the error, "The {customer ID} is already present." This issue has been fixed.

Aug '25Bug FixesInvoices

Unbilled charges now invoiced correctly

We've fixed an issue where unbilled charges were being created but not invoiced, which could affect your revenue recognition and MRR calculations. With this fix, newly generated unbilled charges will be invoiced correctly, reducing the need for manual adjustments and giving you more accurate reporting. A patch is also planned to address previously generated unbilled charges, ensuring full consistency in your billing.

Aug '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Easier switching between new and existing payment methods

In the full-page layout of the Checkout experience, customers who had existing payment methods would lose visibility of them after clicking Add new payment method, without an option to go back. This has now been fixed. Customers can now view and switch between their existing and new payment methods as needed, ensuring greater flexibility during checkout.

Aug '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Prevent address changes while payment is in progress

To ensure accuracy during checkout, the address fields in the in-app layout are now disabled once payment is in progress. This prevents last-minute changes that could alter the payment amount and cause failure in subscription creation.

Aug '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Fix for Checkout error when toggling e-invoicing

If you had enabled e-invoicing and later turned it off, Checkout with full-page layout sometimes displayed an error message saying "Cannot read properties of undefined...". This issue has now been fixed.

Aug '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Clearer messaging for customer login errors on Portal

When customers attempted to log in to the Chargebee Self-Serve Portal after multiple failed card payments, they previously saw the incorrect message: "Looks like you don't have an account with us". This has now been corrected to display an accurate error message that reflects the actual issue.

Aug '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Invoice reflects correct service period for Checkout charges API

When you include both charges[date_from] and charges[date_to] in your Checkout charge-items or one-time charges API call, the invoice now accurately reflects the intended service period, so your customers see the correct duration of service rendered.

Aug '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Order summary display fixed on mobile version for Checkout

You've likely noticed that the order summary button on the full-page layout for Chargebee Checkout sometimes displayed the order amount with awkward spacing or misaligned text on mobile browsers. That layout issue has now been resolved.

Aug '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Accessibility fixes for address validation on Checkout

We've improved accessibility in the full-page layout for Chargebee Checkout by fixing how address field validation error messages are communicated. With this update, screen readers can now accurately detect and announce these messages, ensuring customers with visual impairments have a clearer checkout experience.

Aug '25Bug FixesHosted Pages

Resolved issue with amount display on Checkout for new payment methods

When customers selected one of the newly supported payment methods, the submit button on the full-page layout for Chargebee Checkout occasionally displayed an incorrect amount. This issue has now been fixed.

Aug '25Bug FixesMulti Business Entity

Correction of bulk upload Sample Sheet for Accurate Item Pricing

We fixed a misalignment in the bulk upload sample sheet for creating item prices, where the examples for the item_price[pricing_model] and item_price[price] columns were shifted by one cell, leading to incorrect data entry and potential billing errors. The sample sheet has now been corrected, making bulk uploads smoother and ensuring accurate billing from the start.

Aug '25Bug FixesInvoices

Accurate invoicing restored for unbilled charges

We've fixed an issue that caused unbilled charges to remain on some customer accounts instead of being invoiced, particularly for business using parent-child account hierarchies. With this update, invoices now correctly capture all applicable charges, ensuring accurate billing and preventing revenue from being unaccounted for.

Aug '25Bug FixesInvoices

Accurate discount breakdown in credit note preview

We've corrected an issue on the credit note preview screen where promotional credits were incorrectly included in the discount amount when invoices were paid using both promotional credits and manual discounts. With this fix, promotional credits are now excluded from the discount amount, while valid discounts and coupons continue to display accurately. This ensures that you view the correct breakdown of credits and discounts, giving you a clear and reliable view of your billing adjustments.
