Introducing Manual Adjustment Tool

The all-new Manual Adjustment Tool in RevRec allows you to make adjustments directly to revenue and expense results and ensures that RevRec maintains accurate and up-to-date information by providing greater control and enhanced financial reporting process. The feature comes with:

Efficient Adjustment Process where you can upload adjustments using a template, make adjustments at a detailed (e.g., sale order level) or aggregated level. RevRec automatically generates journal entries based on GL mapping rules and configurations.

Flexibility and Control to post multiple adjustments as needed and manage them easily through the RevRec web UI. You can review, update, or delete adjustments before closing an accounting period.

Compliance and Auditability where you can add explanations and context to each adjustment and save supporting documentation for reviews. You can track manual adjustments using RevRec's reports with the 'Manual Adjustments' filter.

Apr '23New FeatureRevRec

Introducing Apple App Store Integration (EAP)

RevRec's App Store integration (EAP) automates the revenue recognition for your App Store subscriptions. RevRec will sync detailed subscription transaction data from your App Store's [link_static https://developer.apple.com/help/app-store-connect/reference/subscriber-report/]Subscriber[] report on a daily basis, and apply the revenue recognition rules based on subscription's duration. Additionally, you can configure RevRec to automatically process Apple's platform fee charge as an expense and apply expense recognition rules.

Apr '23EnhancementsAccounting Integration

CB SDK and one CRI

We are excited to announce a new update to RevenueStory that will improve the syncing of invoices for our users. Previously, there was an issue with invoices not syncing due to a type mismatch for the property date_to, resulting in a runtime exception with the message - Type mismatch for property date_to. Expected java.lang.Integer but contains java.lang.Long.

Apr '23EnhancementsCheckout

Razorpay Enhancements

As part of the Razorpay enhancements made, you will now be able to offer the below to your customers:

  • Gifting flow for customers while using Razorpay as the payment gateway.
  • Accept payments through Razorpay for one-time purchases.
  • Accept pending payments through Razorpay and be able to use the payment method for future charges if applicable.

We have made the following enhancements to the above workflows in the Checkout process on our platform.

Prevent existing payment methods for CIT Transactions- With this update, end customers cannot use existing payment tokens' reference IDs for CIT transactions. This means that existing payment methods connected through Razorpay will not be listed as part of the above workflows.

New payment methods will not be saved as the workflows come with a one-time charge, there is no need to save the payment method for future transactions.

No Mandate flow for gifting and one-time purchases- The new payment method provided during the checkout process will not trigger a mandate flow. Since there are no recurring charges involved in the workflows, there is no need to set up a mandate for the payment method.

Collect now pages- You will be able to use the payment method for future charges if applicable.

Customizing the RBI mandate message- This gives you more control over the messaging for your customers and allows for future-proofing translations if Chargebee supports regional languages in the future. You can also customize whether the maximum amount that can be debited is called out in the mandate message or not. By default, the maximum amount will not be included in the mandate message, but you can choose to call it out based on their preferences. Additionally, translations for the mandate message can be provided through the language pack, making it easy to provide a localized experience for your customers.

Apr '23EnhancementsRevRec

Stripe Integration Enhancements

The following enhancements were released:

You can now configure accounting recognition rules for credit notes based on the reason code in Stripe, to apply retrospective, perspective, or point-in-time methods.

RevRec now supports the use case where the deal in HubSpot includes one time charge. RevRec will now associate such invoices in Stripe to the sales orders, instead of creating separate sales orders for these one time charges.

Apr '23EnhancementsRevRec

SSP Rule Enhancement

RevRec now allows you to set the configuration of revenue recognition rule waterfall logic so that the revenue recognition rule specified in the Standalone Selling Price (for example, at product level) can override the start and end dates for order item level in the sales order input data - making RevRec more versatile and easier for implementation.

Apr '23New FeatureSetup & Site Management

Export Format Option and Import Format Alignment

We are excited to introduce a new feature that allows you to export data in the import format, matching the headers/field names and fields of the import format, and reducing the need for format conversion. In addition, the CSV export format now matches the import format, including the fields and pre-filled information, making it easier for merchants and migration engineers to migrate existing subscriptions to Chargebee and perform bulk operations without spending additional hours on format conversion. These improvements align the data export and import formats for subscriptions and product catalog, without causing any disruptive changes to customers already using the existing export format.

Apr '23EnhancementsCB UX

Improved Line Break Functionality in Comments and Notes Section

Previously, you were unable to give a line break in the comments and notes section when using the Leap ability, which caused the comment to be posted when pressing the enter key. With this update, you can now have the ability to use both the enter and shift+enter keys to create line breaks in comments and notes. This update affects modules such as Quotes, Subscriptions, Invoices, Credit Notes, and wherever the Notes and Comments section is used.

Apr '23EnhancementsRevRec

However, we have identified an issue with the Revenue Story pages, where the pages are only partially connected to the CookieUI and require updating to reflect the new rebranding theme. To address this issue, we have implemented a new feature that ensures that each Revenue Story page reflects the new rebranding theme, providing consistency across the platform.

Custom Reason Codes We now support custom cancellation reason codes, allowing for tailoring of the cancellation process to cater to your specific needs.

Previously only the Product Name was exposed in the table. With the inclusion of Product ID, you can now analyze their data by both product name and ID.

We have also added the GLN field as an option under the Checkout Identifiers section, allowing it to be selected as a routing parameter. Apr '23EnhancementsMobile Subscriptions

Removed Calendar Billing from Mobile Subscriptions

Prior to this release, when connecting the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to Chargebee, the Calendar Billing feature would be enabled by default. The purpose of this was to ensure that the billing period would start on the exact date of the purchase. With this release, there is no longer a need to enable the Calendar Billing feature. Instead, the date is automatically set during the subscription creation and renewals with the use of change term end API. This streamlines the configuration process and minimizes the errors resulting from a missed configuration step.

Xero Fixes

We are pleased to announce that we have identified and resolved an issue in Xero that was affecting our customers' ability to process failed records. The issue was related to the inclusion of deleted records in the processing, resulting in failed syncing and inaccurate data. We have made a change to our system, so that failed record processing will exclude any deleted records, ensuring that only actual records are synced.

We are excited to announce a new update that will improve the syncing of item prices for our users. Previously, there was an issue with item prices being associated with deleted invoices, which caused syncing failures and inaccurate data.

We have implemented a fix that will exclude deleted invoices from the syncing process. Going forward, item prices will only be associated with valid invoices, ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date.
