With accurate pricing and quantity calculations displayed according to your settings, this update is ideal for industries that demand fine-grained precision. Entity-specific invoice notes for VAT & reverse charges

You can now configure reverse charge and VAT exemption notes at the entity level for a more customized invoicing experience. Oct '24EnhancementsTaxation

Updated handling of third-party tax providers for backdated invoices

When creating backdated invoices in Chargebee, third-party tax handling has been enhanced for more consistent tax syncing. If a third-party tax provider was configured (or no provider/tax setup was in place) on the backdate, your invoice will automatically sync to the current tax provider. However, if a manual tax was configured on the backdate, the invoice will apply manual tax and remain unsynced.

Oct '24EnhancementsCRM Salesforce

Enhanced customer and subscription filtering in Salesforce sync [1.65 Package]

Take control of your data sync from Chargebee to Salesforce with enhanced Customer and Subscription filtering. Now, in addition to Plan IDs or Subscription Statuses, you can filter records based on custom fields on Chargebee's Customer and Subscription objects. Set up to four filters with custom filter logic, ensuring only the most relevant records sync between systems. For existing users, previous filter settings will be automatically migrated to the new setup, so you can leverage the expanded capabilities right away.

Oct '24EnhancementsCRM Salesforce

Prefill field values to pass custom data from Salesforce to Chargebee [1.65 Package]

The new Prefill Field Values feature in Chargebee allows you to transfer custom information from Salesforce into Chargebee Application visualforce pages, enhancing your quoting workflows. If you need to add specific terms or conditions from a Salesforce Opportunity into the Chargebee Quote Notes, this feature enables you to create and map a field in Salesforce for exactly that purpose. While currently supporting this use case only, Prefill Field Values simplifies data transfer and ensures your quotes are accurate and tailored.

Oct '24EnhancementsTaxation

Subscription auto-cancellation removed on renewal failures

We've updated our subscription renewal process to stop the automatic cancellation of subscriptions when renewal attempts fail. Previously, failed renewal attempts after several retries would result in the subscription being auto-canceled, impacting your revenue. The auto-cancellation removal feature is now available for third-party tax providers. For known third-party tax provider errors, the Renewal Job will retry up to three times. If the error persists, the subscription renewal will proceed with ZERO tax. In case of the unknown third-party errors, the subscription renewal will proceed with ZERO tax after the first attempt. To enable this feature, please contact Chargebee Support.

Oct '24EnhancementsRevenueStory

With this release, we have made the following changes:

Dashboard Top Nav Bar Enhancements - We've streamlined your interaction with the RevenueStory dashboard by unifying all dashboard-related actions into a refreshed top navigation bar. Additionally, the Download and Schedule buttons have been upgraded to provide a more seamless experience, enabling you to access and manage these options in a centralized location quickly.

Filters & Segments Enhancement - We have redesigned the process for saving and updating filters and segments to minimize unnecessary steps. Previously, saving or updating required multiple clicks; now, you can accomplish these actions easily, enhancing accessibility and improving your overall workflow.

Custom Fields in Filters - To simplify your experience, native support for Chargebee (CB) custom fields is now available directly within the RevenueStory Dashboard filters. You no longer need to map custom fields to predefined RevenueStory (RS) fields through support. Custom fields are now organized within their relevant objects, such as Subscriptions and Customers, allowing you to filter by custom fields more intuitively and efficiently.

Oct '24EnhancementsRevenueStory

View custom payment methods in Report Builder

You can now view the custom payment method field in the Report Builder, giving you a complete picture of all the payment methods your business uses including unique ones that go beyond the standard options such as card, cash, and check. Oct '24UI ImprovementsHosted Pages

Full-Page Checkout: Clear visibility on promotional credits

When your customers have promotional credits, the Full-Page Checkout now clearly shows their applicable balance right from the start, avoiding any unexpected charges. For example, if a customer has $50 in promotional credits while making a $100 purchase, they'll see the adjusted $50 payment amount upfront, reducing the risk of cart abandonment due to uncertainty about credits.

Oct '24UI ImprovementsHosted Pages

Full-Page Checkout: Loader color now matches your page

If you've embedded Full-Page Checkout in a dark theme app, you may have noticed a temporary white flash as the page loads. With this update, the color of the page loader automatically matches the page color, creating a more cohesive experience for your customers.

Oct '24UI ImprovementsUser Experience

Introducing summary section for quicker customer insights

We've improved the customer details page by decluttering the first section to display only the most relevant information. Previously, redundant details appeared across the first three sections, causing users to scroll unnecessarily. Now, you can quickly find the customer information you need without the clutter, enhancing your workflow and saving time.

Oct '24UI ImprovementsBulk Operations

Seamless navigation after export process

We've fixed an issue where clicking the export-ready notification would download the export file instead of navigating the users to the import and export logs page after exporting large files, such as customers, subscriptions, or invoices. Now, the notification takes you to the correct page, helping you manage and track your exports seamlessly.

Oct '24Bug FixesUser Experience

Improved: Clickable URLs in the summary section of customer details

We've fixed an issue where URLs in custom fields on the Customer Details summary section were not clickable. With this update, URLs in the custom fields section are now fully clickable, making it easier for you to access linked resources directly from the customer details view. This enhancement streamlines navigation and improves efficiency in managing customer information.

Oct '24Bug FixesInvoices

Fixed: Card details now saved with subscription charges

We've addressed an issue where card details were not saved when creating one-time charges at the subscription level. Now, if you include payment details with a one-time invoice under Subscriptions and have the relevant site setting enabled, the card information will be saved at the customer level, ensuring it's available for future transactions. Contact Support to avail this setting for your site.

Oct '24Bug FixesInvoices

Improved error handling for one-time invoices

We've improved error handling for creating one-time invoices via APIs. Previously, merchants received a 500 error when the service period derived from the date-from and date-to inputs exceeded the 730-day limit. Now, instead of an internal server error, you'll receive a clear 4xx error, making it easier to understand and address the issue promptly. This enhancement ensures smoother API interactions, helping you manage billing operations with greater confidence and clarity.

Oct '24Bug FixesInvoices

Accurate event triggers for future renewal charges

We've updated the Charge Future Renewal feature to trigger the 'Subscription Changed' event along with the 'Invoice Generated' event, when the next_billing_at parameter is updated. Now, when future renewals are billed and the 'next_billing_at' date is updated, the subscription change event will also be triggered. This improvement ensures your records stay in sync by automatically updating the next billing date in your database, providing more accurate tracking and a smoother customer experience.

Oct '24Bug FixesTaxation

Bulk import of taxes validation preview

Previously, when importing taxes, the validation preview incorrectly displayed only three taxes for review, but the full import was completed without allowing you to validate them first. This fix ensures that you can now validate the correct number of taxes before completing the import.

Oct '24Bug FixesTaxation

Redundant VAT number validation in APIs

We've resolved an issue where VAT number cache checks were not being applied consistently across various APIs, including the Migrate Customer API. As a result, the same VAT numbers were being validated repeatedly.

Oct '24Bug FixesCRM Salesforce

Enhanced control for discounts and backdated changes [1.64 Package]

You can now enjoy greater flexibility with Chargebee's latest updates. Manual discounts support up to three decimal places, allowing for more precise adjustments. Additionally, subscription changes can now be backdated directly through Opportunity automation, while invoice backdating is enabled via the subscription trigger.

Oct '24Bug FixesHosted Pages

Full-Page Checkout: Resolved renewal date confusion for one-time subscriptions

Previously, a message displaying a renewal date appeared for new subscriptions created with a single billing cycle, causing confusion for customers expecting the subscription not to renew. This issue has now been resolved.

Oct '24Bug FixesHosted Pages

Full-Page Checkout: Coupon code box now functions as intended

In full-page checkout, the 'This field is required' message would appear if a customer clicked Apply without entering a coupon code. While this message is necessary to prompt users when no code is entered, it previously blocked the Proceed to Checkout action, unintentionally preventing customers from completing their purchase. Now, the message no longer impedes checkout, allowing customers to continue without providing a coupon code.

Oct '24Bug FixesHosted Pages

In-App Checkout: Tax displays accurately with read-only billing country

Previously, when upgrading a trial subscription to a paid plan, taxes did not display at checkout if the billing country field was set to read-only, even though they were correctly applied in the final invoice. This issue has now been resolved, ensuring that tax details appear upfront during checkout, even with a read-only billing country field.

Oct '24Bug FixesTaxation

E-Invoice Failure Due to Tax Calculation

We've resolved an issue that caused e-invoice failures when the tax calculation resulted in a minor discrepancy. The error occurred due to a rounding difference when calculating tax amounts to two decimal places. For example, for a taxable amount of 1629.13 and a 22% tax, the correct tax should be 358.40, but the system was sending 358.43. This issue, which resulted in e-invoice rejection, has now been fixed.

Oct '24Bug FixesTaxation

Tax calculation fix for multiple line items on credit notes

We've resolved an issue where the tax amounts for multiple line items on standalone credit notes occasionally mismatched. With this fix, the tax amount is now calculated accurately for each line item.

Oct '24Bug FixesHosted Pages

Fixed an issue with collecting network identifiers at checkout

When using E-Invoicing, network identifier fields were not appearing during checkout for some customers, even when you had enabled the Collect network identifiers during checkout option. This has been fixed, ensuring smoother invoicing and enhanced compliance.

Oct '24Bug FixesHosted Pages

Resolved 'Token has expired' error in portal previews

We have resolved an issue where you encountered a 'Token has expired' error when previewing checkout or portal sessions created via API on the live site.

Oct '24Bug FixesHosted Pages

Fix for misleading trial messages during checkout

We've fixed an issue where your customers might see an incorrect message on the checkout page stating they will be charged only after a trial period—even when no trial applies and the total amount is zero due to promotional credits or coupons. This eliminates confusion, enhancing your customers' trust in your service.

Oct '24Bug FixesEntitlements

Improved reliability of override-based events

Scheduled override events now fire correctly when an override is activated. Previously, some events linked to scheduled overrides weren't triggered as expected, leading to incomplete actions or missed notifications. With this fix, you can now rely on all override-based events to execute smoothly, ensuring accurate workflows and timely updates.

Oct '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Accurate billing with scheduled subscription changes

We've resolved an issue where subscription scheduled changes were not taking effect at the planned time, causing incorrect billing during renewal. This occurred specifically for subscriptions using day-based proration, while millisecond-based proration worked correctly. With this fix, scheduled changes will now execute as expected, ensuring accurate billing and preventing disruptions to your customers' subscriptions.

Oct '24Bug FixesSubscriptions

Upcoming Invoice API issue resolved for Multi-frequency billing

We've fixed an issue where the upcoming Invoice for Committed Monthly Recurring Revenue (CMRR) API was throwing a 500 error when multi-frequency billing was enabled. Now, the API works seamlessly with this feature, ensuring secure and uninterrupted access to your upcoming invoice data without errors.

Oct '24Bug FixesInvoices

Consistent billing periods for line items in UI and PDF

We've fixed an issue where the billing period for line items was displayed inconsistently between the UI and PDF for consolidated invoices. Previously, only the last billing cycle was shown in the UI, creating confusion when multiple subscriptions and unbilled charges were involved. Now, the billing period is clearly displayed for all line items, ensuring consistency across the UI and PDF, and making it easier for you to manage and understand billing details.

Oct '24Bug FixesInvoices

Accurate invoice totals with document-level coupons

We've fixed an issue where the invoice total did not account for document-level coupons, only item-level coupons. With this fix, both document-level and item-level coupons are now properly applied, ensuring your invoices reflect the correct total and any discounts are accurately calculated.

Oct '24Bug FixesInvoices

Accurate tax calculations for inclusive tax cases

We've fixed a rounding issue that caused a one-cent discrepancy in invoices with inclusive tax. Previously resolved for tax-exclusive cases, this issue has now been addressed for tax-inclusive scenarios as well. The fix ensures that credit note line items and their corresponding tax amounts are calculated consistently, providing accurate invoicing without rounding errors.

Oct '24Bug FixesInvoices

Fixed: metered addon charged twice on invoice

We've resolved an issue where a metered addon was being charged twice on the same invoice, despite being added to the subscription only once. This fix ensures that metered addons are billed correctly, preventing duplicate charges and helping you maintain accurate billing for your customers.

Oct '24Bug FixesProduct Catalog

Fixed activity logs for custom field changes

We've fixed an issue where removing a custom field from an item didn't trigger an item_updated event. Now, any change to custom fields, including the removal of custom field values, will correctly trigger this event. This improvement ensures that downstream systems are properly notified of all custom field updates, providing better visibility and consistency in your activity logs.
