  ## Introducing customer-level entitlements

You can now assign entitlements directly at the customer level, independent of any subscription. This lets you grant feature access through one-time charges, even if the customer does not have an active subscription.

  ### **Why is this important?**

[Customer-level entitlements](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/entitlements/customer-entitlements) give businesses greater flexibility in managing access across both subscription and non-subscription products. This allows you to monetize different product types, sell diverse offerings to the same customer, and maintain accurate access control across all purchase models.

  ### **How can you use it?**

  1. Log in to your [Chargebee Billing](https://app.chargebee.com/login) site.
  2. Go to **Customers** > **Customer Details** page.
  3. Click **Add Charge** > choose and configure the charge you want to add.
  4. Once added, it will appear under the Non-Subscription tab in the **Entitlements** section. Additionally, you can also refer to the [customer_entitlements](https://apidocs.chargebee.com/docs/api/customer_entitlements?lang=curl) API documentation for more information.

  ## Gift subscriptions are now supported in full-page Checkout

[Gift subscriptions](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/subscriptions/gift-subscriptions) now work with the full-page [layout](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/hosted-capabilities/configure-fullpage#layout-tab) of Chargebee Checkout, so you can let customers purchase and schedule gifts on a dedicated checkout page that matches your brand and converts on any device.

  ### **Why is this important?**

You can promote seasonal and occasion-based gifting without redesigning your purchase flow, capture intent from marketing links or emails that deep-link to a full-page checkout, and use built-in notifications so gifters get confirmations and recipients get claim instructions on schedule. This helps you acquire new paid users who experience your product first as recipients, then convert to regular subscribers.

  ### **How can you use it?**

Follow the steps below to enable and configure Gift Subscriptions:
  1. In Chargebee Billing, [enable **Gift Subscriptions**](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/subscriptions/gift-subscriptions#enabling-the-gift-subscriptions-feature).
  2. Configure the auto-claim and claim-window [settings](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/subscriptions/gift-subscriptions#enabling-the-gift-subscriptions-feature).
  3. Create [gift plans](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/subscriptions/gift-subscriptions#creating-gift-plans).
  4. Configure the Checkout and Portal [settings](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/subscriptions/gift-subscriptions#configuring-gift-subscription-fields-in-checkout-and-portal) for gift subscriptions.
  5. Configure [email notifications](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/subscriptions/gift-subscriptions#configuring-email-notifications) for gift subscriptions.

  ## Take full control of your Growth offers via API (EAP)

A new set of backend APIs now empowers you to fetch context-aware offers, accept and manage offer fulfillment, and log customer interactions with offers through a single Growth API suite.

  ### **Why is this important?**

You can deliver real-time, tailored offers through any channel, such as your app, portal, checkout, email, or CRM. When you want more flexibility than what the [pre-built Chargebee UI components](https://www.chargebee.com/checkout-portal-docs/personalized-offers.html) can offer, the new APIs let you embed offers natively, keeping full control of how offers appear. You can also run omnichannel campaigns and A/B tests using your existing systems so you convert and iterate faster.

  ### **How can you use it?**

You call the [Personalized Offers](https://apidocs.chargebee.com/docs/api/personalized_offers?lang=curl) endpoint to get ready-to-serve offers matched to a given customer context (profile, subscription, signals). When a customer accepts, you invoke the [Offer Fulfillment](https://apidocs.chargebee.com/docs/api/offer_fulfillments?lang=curl) API to begin or monitor processing (whether via billing update, checkout, redirect, webhook, or email). Along the way, use the [Offer Events](https://apidocs.chargebee.com/docs/api/offer_events?lang=curl) API to record "viewed" or "dismissed" actions for reporting and funnel optimization.

  ## Entitlements for direct subscription charges

You can now view entitlements for one-time charges added directly to a subscription. When such a charge is applied, its associated entitlements are automatically displayed in the Entitlements section of the subscription details page.

  ### **Why is this important?**

Previously, entitlement visibility was limited to charges added during subscription creation or updates. With this enhancement, you gain complete visibility and traceability for all entitlements, regardless of whether the charge originates from subscription creation, update, or a direct addition at the subscription level.

  ### **How can you use it?**

  1. Log in to your [Chargebee Billing](https://app.chargebee.com/login) site.
  2. Go to **Subscriptions** > **Subscription Details** page.
  3. Click **Add Charge** > choose and configure the charge you want to add.
  4. Once added, it will appear under the Non-Subscription tab in the **Entitlements** section. Read more about [entitlements for direct subscription charges](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/entitlements/subscription-entitlements#entitlements-for-direct-subscription-charges).

  ## Enable Price Type Override at Customer level

You can now enable the Price Type Override feature for individual customers directly from your Chargebee Billing account without contacting support.

  ### **Why is this important?**

The price type determines whether your product prices are tax-inclusive or exclusive. By overriding the default price type (configured at the currency level), you can tailor tax treatment for individual customers. This added flexibility helps you stay compliant with varying tax requirements across regions or customer types.

  ### **How can you use it?**

Go to **Settings > Configure Chargebee > Billing LogIQ> Taxes** in your Chargebee Billing account. [Read more](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/taxes/tax#customer-level-price-type-override) about Customer Level Price Override .

<Update tags={["ENHANCEMENT"]} topics={["RevenueStory"]}>
  ## Explore deeper insights with VUD in RevenueStory

You can now use **View Underlying Data (VUD)** in [Reports Explorer](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/reports-and-analytics/reports-explorer) and on CFO Dashboard KPI cards in RevenueStory. This capability lets you instantly view and download the VUD, helping you validate figures, understand trends, and make data-driven decisions without switching views.

  ### **Why is this important?**

The VUD gives you direct access to the data behind your metrics, making it easy to validate numbers, understand trends, and identify what's driving changes so you can make confident, data-backed decisions right within RevenueStory.

  ### **How can you use it?**

Follow these steps to view the underlying data in reports in Reports Explorer:
  1. Log in to your [Chargebee Billing](https://app.chargebee.com/login) site.
  2. Go to **RevenueStory** > **Reports Explorer** > Select any report to view the VUD. <TrainnVideo id="70N2UZfdyzK2PsUjneDx8A" />

  ## Orders now support Multi-frequency billing

Chargebee Billing now supports [order generation](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/subscriptions/orders) for invoices created under [Multi-frequency billing](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/subscriptions/subscriptions#multi-frequency-billing). When invoices include multiple line items for different billing terms such as addons billed across varying periods, Chargebee accurately converts only the valid items into corresponding order line items. This ensures that backdated invoices or invoices created after the first order date are handled correctly.

  ### **Why is this important?**

This enhancement ensures that your orders accurately reflect only valid billing events, preventing skipped or duplicate order entries. It helps maintain consistency between your invoices and orders, especially when dealing with subscriptions that span multiple billing terms.

  ### **How can you use it?**

If [Multi-frequency billing](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/subscriptions/subscriptions#multi-frequency-billing) is enabled for your site, all orders are automatically processed with this logic. You don't need to manually adjust invoice line items, Chargebee will recognize and create orders for the appropriate ones.

  ## Faster Checkout with autofill and mobile-friendly fields

[Checkout](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/hosted-capabilities/hosted-checkout) fields like name, email, phone number, and address now support browser autocomplete and trigger the appropriate type of virtual keyboards on touch devices such as smartphones. See sample screenshots below for email-specific (1) and number keyboard (2).

  ### **Why is this important?**

This update reduces friction at checkout by letting customers use saved details in their browser and benefit from mobile-optimized keypads. It makes completing forms quicker and more intuitive, which can help lower drop-offs and boost conversions.

  ### **How can you use it?**

This enhancement is automatically available on all Checkout pages.

  ## Add BACS Direct Debit details via Chargebee Billing

You can now add BACS Direct Debit details directly from the Chargebee Billing.

  ### **Why is this important?**

Previously, you couldn't manually add [BACS](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/payments/2.0/payment-methods/direct-debit-payments#united-kingdom) bank account details for customers via Chargebee Billing. This limited flexibility was especially problematic when setting up or migrating customer payment information. This enhancement applies to gateways like [GoCardless](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/payments/2.0/payment-gateways-and-configuration/gocardless) and [Adyen](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/payments/2.0/payment-gateways-and-configuration/adyen) and is supported for both new and existing customers.

  ### **How can you use it?**

When adding a new bank account for your customer in Billing, ensure that BACS is enabled in your payment gateway configuration in Billing. Then you can fill in the required fields, such as **Account Number** and **Sort Code**, and save the details.

  ## New in-app EAP and Beta landing pages to boost feature adoption

Previously, whenever you came across an Early Access Program (EAP) or Beta feature in Chargebee Billing Documentation, requesting access meant going through manual Typeform flows, leading to limited onboarding. To simplify access and accelerate feature adoption, we now offer a new in-app experience for selected EAP and Beta features with fewer steps.
You can experience this new flow in all feature documents that are EAP or Beta.

  **Why is this important?**
Adoption of early-stage features often stalls when you face friction in discovering or signing up for them due to the multiple steps involved. With more features entering the EAP and Beta phases, an integrated approach is essential for your onboarding and improving operational efficiency.

  **How can you use it?**
If you go to an EAP or Beta feature, such as [Automatic exports](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/data-operations/automatic-export-overview) and more in [Chargebee Billing Documentation](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/getting-started/accessing_chargebee), you will see a callout with a **Request Access** option. Click **Request Access,** and on the feature page, click **Request Access** again to register your interest.

  ## Quickly find your sites with alphabetical ordering

Chargebee's site navigation bar now shows sites in alphabetical order.

  ### **Why is this important?**

When you have access to multiple sites, locating the one you need can be time-consuming. Displaying them alphabetically ensures a consistent, predictable order so you can quickly find the right site.

  ### **How can you use it?**

Open the site switcher in your navigation bar, and see all your sites neatly arranged in alphabetical order.

  ## Language pack download issue with quotes resolved

Previously, if you had the [Chargebee CPQ](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/chargebee-cpq/chargebee-cpq) feature enabled and had created quotes, the [language pack download URL](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/customers/configure-multiple-languages#step-2-download-the-language-pack-and-provide-the-translations) was unavailable. This issue has now been fixed.

  ## Address formatting fix for Swedish checkouts

You can now rely on the [address autocomplete](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/hosted-capabilities/configure-fullpage#autocomplete-addresses) feature in [Checkout](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/hosted-capabilities/hosted-checkout) to order address components according to each customer's region. Previously, address lines could appear reversed, for example showing the street number before the street name, regardless of local norms. With this change, addresses will render in the correct order by locale.

  ## Fix for coupon reapplication during Checkout updates

Earlier, when you [changed](https://apidocs.chargebee.com/docs/api/hosted_pages?lang=curl&prod_cat_ver=2#create_checkout_to_update_a_subscription) a customer's delivery address for a subscription, a coupon that had been [replaced](https://apidocs.chargebee.com/docs/api/hosted_pages?lang=curl&prod_cat_ver=2#create_checkout_to_update_a_subscription_replace_coupon_list) during the update process was sometimes automatically reapplied and could not be removed. We've fixed this to ensure coupons behave as expected during subscription updates.

  ## Brand favicon loads accurately for each entity

If you manage [multiple business entities](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/multi-business-entity/mbe), the Chargebee [Self-Serve Portal](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/hosted-capabilities/hosted-portal) will now display the correct [favicon](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/customers/branding#logo-color) for each entity right from the first load. Previously, the site-level favicon appeared instead of the entity-specific one until the page was refreshed. With this fix, each entity's branding is consistently reflected in the portal.

  ## Fix for editable email field in full-page Checkout

Previously, even when you marked the [email field](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/hosted-capabilities/configure-fullpage-fieldslabels#account-information) as [read-only](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/hosted-capabilities/configure-fullpage-fieldslabels#edit-a-field-name), customers could sometimes still see an edit option and update their email during checkout. This fix ensures the field remains locked as intended.

  ## Visual correction in recap modal for zero future charges

When a customer switches from a paid [plan](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/product-catalog/plans) to a free one, the charges recap modal in [Checkout](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/hosted-capabilities/hosted-checkout) now correctly hides unnecessary lines when future charges are zero. Previously, a redundant divider appeared, creating visual confusion.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Hosted Pages"]}>
  ## All applied credits now visible in Checkout summary

In the full-page [layout](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/hosted-capabilities/configure-fullpage#layout-tab) of Checkout, the summary page now displays all applied credits correctly when customers review the breakdown. Previously, only one credit was visible when selecting **Credits applied**.

  ## Accurate invoice generation when deleting unbilled charges

Chargebee has fixed a bug that caused a $0 invoice to be generated when [cancelling a subscription](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/subscriptions/cancellations) with [unbilled charges](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/subscriptions/unbilled-charges), even after selecting the option to delete those charges. With this update, empty invoices will no longer be created in such cases, ensuring only valid invoices appear in your billing records.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Retention"]}>
  ## Pre-cancel page API now compatible with Multi-Business Entity

We fixed an issue where the [Create a pre-cancel page API](https://apidocs.chargebee.com/docs/api/hosted_pages?prod_cat_ver=2#create_a_pre-cancel_hosted_page) would fail with an HTTP `500 Internal Server Error` response when your Chargebee Billing site had the [Multi-Business Entity (MBE)](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/billing/2.0/multi-business-entity/mbe) feature enabled. With this fix, you can continue implementing in-app cancellation flows using [Chargebee Retention](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/retention/getting-started-guide/getting-started-guide-chargebee-retention) when your operations require separate business entities in Chargebee Billing.
