  ## Delete outdated notes in the customer summary

  You can now delete notes directly from the [customer summary](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/receivables/customer-details.html#navigating-to-customer-details-dashboard_summary) in Chargebee Receivables. Previously, there was no option to remove notes, making it difficult to manage or correct outdated information. This update was introduced to give you better control over your customer records.

  ### **Why is this important?**

  Having the ability to delete notes ensures that your customer records stay relevant and clutter-free, and improve overall account management.

  ### **How can you use it?**

  Go to **Receivables** (left navigation) > **Summary** tab and click on a customer name. Under the **Notes** section, delete a note by clicking the newly added **Delete** button in the customer summary. This option is now available for all users managing customer records.

  ## Prefill Field Values (v1.65)

  Introducing [Prefill Field Values](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/salesforce-integration-guide.html#prefilled_field_values) that allow you to pass custom information from Salesforce fields directly into Chargebee. Currently, this feature supports populating the **Chargebee Quote Notes** Field with data from a custom field in Salesforce, such as terms and conditions stored on a Salesforce Opportunity.

  **Why is this important?**

  The new **Prefill Field Values** feature enables you to pass custom information from Salesforce directly into Chargebee. For instance, you can now transfer terms and conditions from a **Salesforce Opportunity** into the **Chargebee Quoting** workflow, ensuring consistent and accurate data in your quotes.

  **How can you use it?**

  Create a field in Salesforce (e.g., on Opportunity), populate it with the required data, and configure the setting to transfer that data into the Chargebee Quote Notes field. Currently, this feature supports this use case exclusively, giving you a precise way to include essential information in your quotes.

  ## Improved email tracking with the 'Last Reply Date' field

  Chargebee Receivables now includes a **Last Reply Date** field, displaying the date of the most recent email reply from a customer. This field is available in both the [column chooser](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/receivables/receivables-view.html#actions-in-receivables-view_selecting-data-columns) and [advanced filter](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/receivables/receivables-view.html#actions-in-receivables-view_advanced-filter), making it easier to track email engagement.

  ### **Why is this important?**

  With this update, you can quickly identify the latest customer interactions, improving follow-ups and response management. The filtering criteria align with other date-based fields for consistency.

  ### **How can you use it?**

  Go to **Receivables** > **Filter** > **Column Chooser** and select **Last Reply Date** as a column or use it as a filter under **Email Engagement** in advanced filters.

  ## Increased character limit for notes

  Chargebee Receivables now allows longer entries in [notes](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/receivables/customer-details.html#navigating-to-customer-details-dashboard_summary:~:text=view%20its%20details.-,Note%3A,-Displays%20the%20important) under [customer summaries](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/receivables/customer-details.html#navigating-to-customer-details-dashboard_summary). Previously, the character limit was restricted to 24, limiting the amount of information you could store. This update was made in response to customer feedback, giving you more flexibility in capturing important details.

  ### **Why is this important?**

  With an increased character limit, you can provide clearer, more detailed notes and summaries, improving record-keeping and communication within your team.

  ### **How can you use it?**

  Enter your notes as usual, using the expanded space to add more relevant information. This update is automatically available to all users.

A new field in the [collector queue settings](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/receivables/collector-queue.html) lets you define the maximum number of days for extensions, ensuring better control over payment commitments.

  ### **Why is this important?**

  This update provides more flexibility in managing P2P requests while maintaining clear boundaries on extensions.

  ### **How can you use it?**

  Go to the [collector queue settings](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/receivables/collector-queue.html) and enter the desired number of days for P2P extensions in the **P2P Window** field. Any extension requests will be restricted to this limit.

  ## Customized gateway names now appear in Xero for Reconciliation

  Xero now displays customized Stripe account names in payment gateway statements for easier reconciliation.

  **Why is this important?**

  Previously, the dropdown showed only the default name for multiple Stripe accounts (e.g., USD, CAD), making reconciliation difficult and error-prone.

  **How can you use it?**

  Go to **Apps > Xero > Reconcile your Stripe payments**, then click **Proceed** to generate a gateway statement and view customized gateway names for easy account identification.

  <Image src="/screenshots/january_2025/stripe.png" alt="" />
</Update>

<Update tags={["ENHANCEMENT"]} topics={["Taxation"]}>
  ## Improved tax handling for voided invoices with credit notes

  When you [void an invoice](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/invoice-operations.html#actions-for-payment-due-not-paid-invoices_void) with a credit note, Chargebee typically syncs both the void action and the credit note with your tax provider. However, tax providers like [**Taxamo**](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/taxamo.html) and [**Vertex**](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/vertex.html) did not support the commit function, leading to issues in tax filings. This update introduces a more accurate way to handle voided invoices for these tax providers.

  **Why is this important?**

  Previously, voiding an invoice with a credit note caused inconsistencies for Taxamo and Vertex users, as Chargebee attempted to void invoices even when the tax provider did not support it. This could complicate tax filings and refunds. With this enhancement, Chargebee now ensures tax compliance by syncing only the credit note while avoiding unnecessary void calls.

  **How can you use it?**

  If you are using Taxamo or Vertex as your tax provider this enhancement is already enabled.
</Update>

<Update tags={["ENHANCEMENT"]} topics={["CRM Salesforce"]}>
  ## Advanced subscription and customer filtering (v1.65)

  We have introduced subscription filtering and ravamped the existing customer filtering to give you more control over what data syncs from Chargebee to Salesforce. Now, you can refine your data sync by filtering based on Subscription Status, Plan Price Point, and Custom Fields using up to four filters with logical operators.

  ### **Why is this important?**

  This update empowers you to sync only the records that matter, ensuring your Salesforce instance remains clean and focused. With the new subscription filtering, you can exclude specific subscriptions—such as **trials** or **cancellations**—while still syncing the associated customer records, helping you maintain better organization and data relevance.

  ### **How can you use it?**

  Existing filter setups will be automatically migrated, so you can build on them without starting from scratch. Additionally, use subscription filtering to exclude certain subscriptions from syncing without affecting customer records, ensuring your Salesforce system only reflects the data you need.

  [Read more](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/salesforce-integration-guide.html#sync-rules-for-accounts-self-serve-model) to understand about filtering.
</Update>

<Update tags={["ENHANCEMENT"]} topics={["CRM Salesforce"]}>
  ## Automate Auto Collection settings for opportunities (v1.65)

  Auto Collection can now be configured through automation on the **Opportunity** object. This will apply to subscriptions created or updated from the Opportunity, giving you more control over your billing process.

  **Why is this important?**

  This ensures that **Auto Collection** preferences are automatically applied to subscriptions created or updated from an **Opportunity**, reducing manual effort and ensuring accuracy in billing operations.

  **How can you use it?**

  Set up automation rules for the Opportunity object to define Auto Collection preferences. Once configured, these rules will be applied to new or updated subscriptions originating from the Opportunity, aligning your collection settings effortlessly with your sales process.
</Update>

  **Why is this important?**

  Maintaining consistency between Salesforce and Chargebee is crucial for accurate billing and financial management.

  **How can you use it?**

  Navigate to Net D terms of a customer in Salesforce > select the **Update Chargebee** checkbox. The changes will sync automatically, ensuring both systems reflect the latest terms.
</Update>

<Update tags={["ENHANCEMENT"]} topics={["Hosted Pages"]}>
  ## Plans are now sorted by price on the Self-Serve Portal

  We've introduced an automatic sorting mechanism in the [Self-Serve Portal](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/hosted-portal.html) that arranges all available plans by their average per-day price in ascending order.

  ### **Why is this important?**

  This update helps your customers quickly identify the most cost-effective plan without searching through an unsorted list, letting them make faster and more confident subscription decisions.

  ### **How can you use it?**

  No extra steps are needed. Simply [direct your customers](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/self-serve-portal.html#accessing-the-self-serve-portal) to the Self-Serve Portal, and they'll see the plans sorted by price.
</Update>

<Update tags={["ENHANCEMENT"]} topics={["Entitlements"]}>
  ## Filter subscription entitlements using custom fields

  Finding specific subscription entitlements just got easier. With the ability to filter entitlements by custom fields on the [Subscription Entitlements](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/subscription-entitlements.html) page, you can now quickly locate and review the information that matters most to your business.To use this, navigate to the **Subscription Entitlements** screen and apply filters based on your custom fields.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Accounting Integration"]}>
  ## Handling NetSuite's character limit

  Sync failures occurred when a customer's name exceeded 32 characters or the company name exceeded NetSuite's 83-character limit, especially during updates. While creating the customer in NetSuite first and linking them to Chargebee worked initially, updates still caused errors. This update ensures seamless synchronization and data accuracy.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Payments"]}>
  ## Fix for missing direct debit scheme in API responses

  Chargebee has fixed an issue where the `direct_debit_scheme` attribute was missing from the [payment source API](https://apidocs.chargebee.com/docs/api/payment_sources?lang=curl#payment_source_bank_account_direct_debit_scheme) response in certain cases. Previously, this attribute was only returned when mandates were present, causing inconsistencies in direct debit-related payment methods. With this update, the `direct_debit_scheme` will now be included in all relevant API responses, ensuring accurate and reliable data retrieval.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Taxation"]}>
  ## Fix for mismatched next invoice and upcoming amounts

  Previously, if EU/UK taxes were not [configured](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/tax.html#configuring-taxes_step1-enabling-tax), updating a taxable address did not update subscription metrics correctly. This led to mismatches between the Next Invoice Amount and the Upcoming Amount displayed on invoices. We have fixed this ensuring that these subscription metrics update correctly when taxable addresses change.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Taxation"]}>
  ## Tax rate updates via CSV now display correctly

  Previously, when you scheduled [tax rate changes via CSV](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/hosted-portal.html), the updated rates did not appear under Manage Tax Mapping. This caused confusion and made it difficult to verify tax updates. With this fix, any scheduled tax rate changes including those uploaded via CSV—will be accurately reflected under Manage Tax Mapping, ensuring you have complete visibility and control over your tax configurations.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Invoices"]}>
  ## Invoice date checkbox issue resolved

  Previously, on the **Add Charge** screen, unchecking the [**Set the invoice date to a past date**](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/subscriptions-actions-backdating.html#backdating-charges-and-quick-charges) option didn't remove the date field, causing errors during invoicing. This is now fixed—the field disappears as expected, preventing invalid date errors and ensuring accurate invoice creation.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Invoices"]}>
  ## Improved refund tracking for standalone credits

  Previously, refunds on [standalone credits](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/credit-notes.html#creating-standalone-credits) weren't linked, making it difficult to track them. Now, when you refund a standalone credit, it correctly appears in linked_refunds. If you delete the refund, the standalone credit status updates accordingly. This ensures better visibility and accurate records for your transactions.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Subscriptions"]}>
  ## Trial end actions now follow plan-level settings

  Previously, subscriptions did not honor the `trial_end_action` set at the plan level and instead defaulted to site-wide trial management setting. This issue is now fixed—your subscriptions will follow the correct trial end action as defined in the plan, ensuring accurate trial management and preventing unexpected activations or cancellations.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Invoices"]}>
  ## Resolved incorrect billing period in invoice previews

  Previously, the preview used the subscription's current term end date, which could display outdated billing periods. Your upcoming invoice preview now calculates the billing period correctly, ensuring it reflects the most recently generated advance invoice. With this fix, you get accurate estimates, helping you plan charges with confidence.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Subscriptions"]}>
  ## Custom fields can now be updated for canceled subscriptions

  Editing a custom field on a subscription canceled after [dunning](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/payments/2.0/dunning-v2.html) resulted in an error stating 'Billing cycle cannot be lesser than 1'. This issue has been fixed—you can now update custom fields for all canceled subscriptions, ensuring better flexibility in managing subscription details.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Subscriptions"]}>
  ## Fix for MRR exclusion checkbox

  Attempting to create a one-time coupon triggered an error if the **Exclude this one-time coupon from MRR** checkbox was checked and then unchecked. This occurred especially when the [Flexible MRR](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/charts.html#flexible-mrr-calculation) feature was enabled. This issue has now been fixed. The exclusion option will appear only when one-time coupons are enabled in MRR settings, ensuring a more consistent and error-free coupon creation process.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Invoices"]}>
  ## Consolidated invoicing override now works as expected

  Previously, you could override [consolidated invoicing settings](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/consolidated-invoicing.html#configuring-consolidated-invoicing) at the customer level, even when the **Allow overriding via Chargebee interface** option was disabled. This issue has been fixed—now when you disable overrides, the setting is correctly enforced. This ensures better control over your invoicing preferences and prevents unintended changes.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Invoices"]}>
  ## Standalone credit notes now export correctly

  Previously, [exporting](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/bulk-operations.html#export-data) standalone credit notes resulted in errors due to missing invoice ID mappings in `ReferenceInvoices.csv`. This issue has been fixed—exports now handle standalone credit notes correctly without disrupting existing workflows. You can confidently generate accurate data without export failures.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Subscriptions"]}>
  ## Free billing period now correctly extends contract terms

  Previously, when creating a subscription with both a [contract term](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/contract-terms.html#creating-subscriptions-with-contract-terms) and a free period, the contract end date did not account for the free period—only the trial period and billing cycle were considered. This issue has now been fixed, ensuring that the contract terms accurately reflect the free billing period, giving customers the full benefit of their subscription.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["Entitlements"]}>
  ## Create features with underscores

  Previously, while it was possible to import [features](https://www.chargebee.com/docs/2.0/tax.html#configuring-taxes_step-3-adding-regions) with underscores ( \_ ) in their IDs, the UI did not allow the same functionality. This is fixed; you can now create features with underscores ( \_ ) directly through the UI without any issues. This ensures consistency whether you are importing features or adding them manually.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["CRM Integration"]}>

  We've fixed a bug in the [Create a bank account payment source](https://apidocs.chargebee.com/docs/api/payment_sources?lang=curl#create_a_bank_account_payment_source) API when using the Stripe gateway. Previously, if the **`first_name`** or **`last_name`** was missing, the process would fail even if a company name was provided. Now, Chargebee accepts either a **`first_name`**, **`last_name`**, or **`company`** for bank account creation, giving you greater flexibility.
</Update>

<Update tags={["BUG FIX"]} topics={["CRM Integration"]}>
